Humpy, bluesgirl is the resident Training Reporter over on CSC. She spends a lot of time at the club and is on first name terms with most of the players and staff. She breaks more news than Melvey! :wink:

I've no doubt that's what they would have told anyone who asks, but I'm sceptical if that's the real figure.

Does anybody remember last year and what a closely kept secret our membership figure was until the final announcement? :wink:

I can see some similarities, suddenly no updates, the figure actually seemed to go backwards there for a while. If I am right, I love the tactic Swanny. He's done it for years and nobody cottons on

After May 7 2006 we added approximately 2200.

Guys the membership department is lost. After not being able to get an accurate figure through the website last week i rang the club.
They told me we had 38,000 and that was the 29th. :roll:

Now they are telling people the same figure over a week later and after beating the eagles.

in the week leading up to the magpies game (we were 0-3) i read in the age we had 37, 200 members. if that figure was true then, there is no way known we haven't cracked 40, 000 yet. i don't know what the club is trying to do but there is something going on. hopefully it isn't a cock-up and it's something a bit more like they're waiting for us to break the victorian record before they start letting it become public knowledge.

perhaps a ploy to make non-members have more incentive to join in an effort to get us over the 40k mark??
