Whats the common thread folks?

Waite was injured last pre-season, and don't forget he's odds-on to retire at the end of this year.

waite delivered more games at north than for the same period at carlton post knee

the common thread is footy ops - Mr Andrew Mckay - hes in charge of the football department and I will call it - hes the one responsible for getting the right people and processes and he will not be our next Premiership footy ops manager imo

He sees our smalls as Shitzus, our mids as Border Collies and our talls as Great Danes.

You don't want to pot our Football Director - Adrian Gleeson.

He's been on the board for ages and overseen quite a few important football decisions.

You will have to wait for the upcoming budget. I believe Daniel Andrews is focused on @#$%&! up other infrastructure projects first.

Understand rationale ABNS and in my head agree with it all BUT if there is any team that could muck up what as you say should be a routine victory against a bottom side - it is the Tigers

the beauty of it is that everyone thinks they will win /they probably think all they need to turn up and win - they have a couple of their players who have done well against us before out - a couple of sore players who now they may be tempted to play
They are now getting pilloried/questioned about picking up Yarran( not direct but incidental pressure and distraction) and whilst I know he has been reappointed Hardwicke but that 15 player stunt against Port and they way the handled that was a team and a coach under monumental pressure - they don't as a rule handle pressure well as a Club that's why they continue to lose finals

we probably have a 1 in 10 chance of winning I know that it may be less because of our forward line and goal kicking power

Everything would need to go right for us and everything pear shaped for them and maybe they still win but if we can get in front for long enough maybe they self destruct :smoking:

All the best ABNS

Pace up forward will be the key. Forget sticking too many lumbering tells up there, if we can slot Casboult 35 out from goal and let the smalls crumb off him, we'll be a chance.
The key will be the midfield. We'll smash them at the clearances and the inside 50 count. We just need to get a bit more productive with our entries. If Murphy plays, I expect him to spend quite a bit of time up forward and kick a couple. Graham is a goal kicking mid so I'll expect a couple from him.
Don't give up yet. Weight of forward 50 entries will sneak us over the line.

@#$%&! the Tiggers.

Not enough Billy Joel...

Harry's done, Weitering, John Barker's back again
Gorringe, Kerridge, Korcheck, Walker's hat.
Menzel's run in Adelaide, SOS's Western Sydney raid,
Yarran's fat, Waite's fit, forward line is still shit...

Lol, I love that song

What small forwards do you like for the job BV?

I'm sure they can be creative Jim.
Casboult surrounded by Murphy/Kerridge rotation, Gibbs/Graham rotation, Boekhorst/Wright rotation and Walker in the forward pocket. Cripps reads the ball off hands as well as anyone.
Everett can play as a leading high half forward if they want to play 6 forwards or rotate him with Walker.
I don't want to see Kruezer/Phillips and Casboult running around inside 50 together. We need to look at our strengths instead of flogging a dead horse with our weaknesses.
Lets see how Chaplin, Rance and Grimes go playing on players with good tanks and pace. If Casboult can bring the ball to ground, we only need a 50/50 chance at the ground ball. I believe our midfield can give us an additional 10 inside 50s for the game.
We have to find a way to translate that to 5 scoring shots. Smart, contested ground ball players are the recipe iMHO.

I agree, just thought you might have more info on names like Smith, Lamb and Cuningham.
