WSW attracted 7000 last night
This time last year you couldn't get a ticket.
More evidence that winning is crucial to supporters turning up.
You want to fix Carlton
Start winning games of footy

Yes but you can't win games of football if you're terribly run.
It all stems from that and that's why you can see so many problems all over the place.

You can't wish to win games of football. The other team won't allow it. The other team has done more things right... These things are not just on the footy park.. They're of field... So their on field of course follow the tone.
Sorry! Can't wish to win.
Lol

Mention Gibbsy's name and membership number and you can get 10% off the price of a 2015 membership.

Good way to ensure that in 2016, people wait till the last minute to buy a membership

Synbad while I respect your opinions, they always come from a "glass half empty" perspective. We all agree we are far from best in class, however, not to acknowledge that Carlton has put in place significant changes to improve the club reflects a lack of perspective on your part. I list the new President, changes to the recruiting department, the appointment of Trigg, trying to get in touch with our base and not aiming for a quick fix. Problems occur in business every day and the membership department fiasco was one of those. Please provide a balanced, view. Carlton has at least made some positive changes. A commoditised innner melbourne club will take years to turn around but at least there are positive signs. Please get past bashing the club all the time and use your undoubted intellect to provide a balanced view.

But WSW was called a phenomenon they were the best run best organised team in the A league they were showing the rest how it was done. They had created a following and a brand like no other and yet here we are some 4 months after being crowned champions of Asia they can only attract 7k to a game.
What happened.
You know the answer
They started losing.
You watch them string a few in a row together now and the fans will return on mass

Don't be fooled by simply looking at the overall membership numbers ... Collingwood and Hawthorn are in a race to see who can sell the most 3 game memberships. According to the way they choose to measure it, I am more value to the Carlton membership number (and would be counted the same as 5 individual members) if I chose to purchase 5 x 3 game memberships rather than one full season membership package. We may not be travelling great but we have always had a smaller percentage of 3 game memberships versus full season memberships than the likes of Hawthorn and Collingwood.

The AFL like this deceitful measure as it inflates the total number of members of AFL clubs, even though much of it is caused by double, triple and quadruple counting.

Excuses from a shit club.
The board went the humiliation road by going to the afl for an advance.. Essentially a loan as the next installment received it subsequent will be less.
With all the talk of a a mighty large board with billionaires. They actually didn't want to write out a loan to the club for a five figure sum. I'm assuming this means for between ten thousand dollard and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety ninety nine dollars..
They're asking us to give them cash that they don't feel they should loan.
Even though it's their decisions and practices that have impacted the club finding itself where it is today.
It's OK to pay third party agreements to players and to sign people on contacts they must pay out when the axe congress down on said employee..

But yeah I have a missing genetic loyalty gene and it's all my fault and the fault of people like myself.
Yes pray to win.. Cross your fingers, toes to win.. That's our escape ticket

Big storms in Sydney last night which delayed the game by over an hour... I wouldn't take too much out of the low attendance.

Just a passing shower lasted 15 minutes

Wouldn't you take an interest-free loan?

Fair comment - our attendance figures don't stack up too badly, despite the relatively low membership numbers.

But is he?

No Im not
Im referring to the drop off in support at home games . They have won 2 A league games this season last year there lowest attendance was 12k now they pulled 7 k last night
There highest is 19 k but the ground doesn't have a large capacity.
Their average has dropped by 1000 per game and will most likely drop further.
Ive read on here people bagging GWS and singing the praises of WSW but its all about winning.
Win and they will come
Lose and you start to look for every little excuse not to go.
SFC coach Arnold was saying the game against WSW should have been moved from Parramatta 3 months ago to allow more fans in.
Now Parramatta is more than half empty.
Same goes for the 7 WSW satellite shops that sold all their memorabilia. All shut now.
Whats changed
Simple they started losing and FFA hasn't the money to prop them up like AFL does with GWS.
If WSW don't start winning again they wont exist before you know it.
Same applies at Carlton 15 years languishing at the bottom half of the table and people wonder why membership numbers are down

I asked this question in the Membership sticky thread, but I may have better luck for responses here?

Just a question for the interstate members on here (particularly those WA-based) - If I purchase an interstate membership this year, what are my chances of:

a) Getting myself a ticket to a Carlton match at Subiaco Oval; and
b) Also getting a ticket for my wife to come along with me when she's not a member (she vaguely supports Drug Cheats FC  :screwy: :bonk: )

If you’re living outside Melbourne but can regularly make the trip down for a match, you can gain access to any five home games of your choice with our Country and Interstate Membership.

You’ll have access to the Social Club Room on match day and the opportunity to attend exclusive Social Club post-match functions. Plus, you’ll be entitled to priority access to purchase finals tickets.

You'll also receive:
• Access to purchase a discounted reserved seat ticket (through the Club) for a game played in your home state (subject to capacity and AFL match classification). Note: This benefit is not applicable for Melbourne based members.
• Access to exclusive online Carlton Shop merchandise discounts
• Access to attend an exclusive Social Club post-match function
• Access to purchase discounted tickets into our Social Club Interstate Events (where applicable)
• Chance to win a double Change Room Pass at a game played in your home state

Additional fees and charges may apply. Entry is subject to capacity and may not be guaranteed.

a) you will need to make sure you keep an eye on your email for notification from the club notifying when the access to purchase the tickets becomes available - then you will generally need to snap a ticket up very quickly as soon as they go on sale

b)this has been inconsistent in the pass, there have been times when you could purchase additional tickets with your membership, times when you could only buy 1 additional ticket and times when you couldn't buy any additional at all
