You heard it here first etc.

A very "Blueman" prediction. Juddy has a blinder nearly every week.

Let's also not forget the sleep factor for Judd.

The team flying over tomorrow = two nights uninterrupted sleep for Judd.

There is a precedent for this as well. I picked judd as my super coach captain the game we played against Freo in Subi for exactly this reason and he scored through the roof.

My prediction - Judd to have an absolute blinder this week.

You heard it here first etc.

I like you thinking , but surely he's not the first footballer to have become a father. I mean, unless he's grown a set of chesticles, it's not like he has to get up to feed the future 250 game Carlton champ.

Unless the little fella is on formula Judd wouldn't be feeding, but he would be woken up up every time bec had to get up and feed Oscar I can guarantee you! And if the little fella is sick neither of them would be sleeping much!

I wouldn't underestimate the impact of two uninterrupted nights sleep for him! :smoking:

I remember from going to the Round 14 game and just seeing the sheer size of the West Coast players compared to ours. If some of our guys can put on 10cm and 20kg we might be in with a shot!

My guess for best line up against WCE.

In: Hampson Touhy
Out: Davies Gibbs

Synbad on Carlton forum, BigFooty, injuries thread reckons Gibbs would struggle to play in the GF if we were lucky enough to make it.

The way it was written there was a slight chance he was referring to Kreuzer. On phone so can't (re not clever enough) to link.

I heard he is likely to travel with the team anyway, so i wouldnt read too much into Gibbs making an appearance at the airport

Your first mistake was taking notice of anything Synbad has to say...

My concern this year has been our ability to score against the top teams. We've averaged 101 points per game, but our scores in games against the top 4 teams are:

R3 - Coll - 74 (19 scoring shots)
R9 - Geel - 100 (30)
R14 - WC - 67 (17)
R17 - Coll - 79 (24)
R22 - Haw 66 (26)

I think our forward performance has been inflated by belting the lower teams. Even on Sunday, most of our forward entries were kick high and long and hope for a mark and if not, then bring the ball to ground for the little blokes. This seems to work fine against the lesser teams, but against teams that are better organised down back, better at being 3rd man up, and better at closing down the space and closing down the small forwards, we seem to struggle.

You think we'd probably need to kick at least 90, possibly over 100 to win the game. That means 25 scoring shots if we kick well, 30 if we kick poorly. Personally, I'd like to see a little more system going into the forward 50.

I would have thought that would be Kreuzer. If it is an A/C I really don't see why Gibbs won't play this week with an injection let alone next week or the week after. If he flies over I'm calling bullshit, he'll play.

DOA said "Gibs", and not "Gibbs".

It's all part of the mind games!

Run and defensive pressure is what could win us this game. I don't think we should try to match WCE for height. It's very tempting to bring Hammer in to help 206 against Cox/NicNat, but he hasn't played AFL since June 19. I love Hammer but it would be a big gamble to pick him, IMO. To do so would probably mean dropping Setanta.

B: Duigan Jamo Laidler
HB: Yarran Hendo Scotland
C: Armfield Judd Simmo
HF: Garlett T-Bird Carrazzo
F: Betts Setanta Walker
R: Warnock Robbo Murphy

Inter: AJ Davies Ellard
S: JR

IN - JR
OUT - Gibbs (inj)

AJ, Ellard & Davies are under pressure from Bower, Lucas & Tuohy. However, Ratten seems to value the 'blue collar' competitive nature of AJ, Ellard & Davies and I tend to think he'll stick with them.

I'm calling for JR to come in as the Sub. With Gibbs out, I think we could do with a medium size mature age player who is versatile, kicks well and has proven himself under finals pressure in the past.

If we defeat the Eagles in a final in Perth without Gibbs, Kreuzer & Waite....it will be a very famous win for our footy club.

No passengers.

I AM CARLTON!

No sign of GIBBS or Kreuzer at airport according to SEN. Hampson, Bower and Tuohy are heading west.
