The one thing that I will admit to with Setanta is still at times he has the tendency to look absolutely lost out there and he makes stupid errors.
Examples that are glaring from recent weeks...
1. The Geelong game. The Geelong player kicked the ball straight to him after the Blues scored a behind. He caught it at the top of the goal square. He didn't go back to take a mark like someone who thought it was a mark would have, he didn't kick it straight back through the sticks for a goal like he should have, either. He stood there dumbfounded. I can't remember whether we ended up with a goal from the play but I do remember he basically threw the ball away when he had an easy shot.
It was reported that exactly the same thing happened in the Bullants to Yarran, with much the same result, so do you think we should trade Yarran too as he seems to have no footy smarts either?

2. The Adelaide game (2nd quarter I believe). He takes a mark. At least one, if not two Crow players on him. Still in the marking contest though the umpire has paid the mark. He turns around while the Crow player(s) are on him and immediately plays on, ending up in a tackle and again throwing the ball away. I'm not sure whether the smaller running player (was it Murphy?) who was running on down the field called for the ball, but I do know that it looked absolutely terrible and was not at all the right play and never would be.
I've seen the same error made by Judd, Murphy, Stevens, Scotland and many other Carlton players this year, playing on without being aware they were about to be tackled, funny how not growing up in Ireland makes players immune to this sort of scrutiny...
