The rebuild looks like it will consist of trying to attract players who are about 23-24 years old and younger.
I can understand the rationale due to drafting so many poor players over many years who would be in that age group right now.
We have a bit of a black hole in our list.

...didn't take Port very long to start performing...one pre season in fact.

and to think Port's list is in the youngest bottom 4 in the league. only way is up from here. And they may fill in a big hole next year if they manage to snare Ryder. Flexible forward/ruck. Perfect.

the blues however have stagnated for many years, and only gave us a fleeting glimpse in the 2011 finals - it really looked like they would spring board after that - even without fev....but no, it was just another mirage....another tease of mediocrity....back into the pack we plummeted ladies and gentlemen.....now according to macka we need to re-build from the bottom up. (Good Strong honest clubs are always re-building, always trying to get a edge on this AFL compromised and artificial competition. they will do whatever is needed and even stretch the rules to get an advantage. Even hire Ratten to fix an under-performing midfield to ensure back to back premierships.)

Hope he does. Imagine what he'd fork over for Robinson.

I hear the very great ruck coach capuano has had his term extended by a couple of years.
This kind of thing wouldn't have happened under Grant Thomas

In his defense he doesn't have much to work with these days.

Hows this going to work
A total rebuild with a coach trying to coach for his future

This will end in tears

He's dropped Yarran, Waite, Warnock, Garlett and Maclean over the last two seasons. Yeah...right, he's coaching for his future.

Yes, Credless, I can see Hodge, Mitchell, Hale, Roughie, Lewis and Sewell hanging off every word sprouted by the great man. In fact, they'd be paralysed on that footy field like a deers in spotlights if tthey didn't have BR's sage instructions, structures and stats resonating in their head.

Good point

However, All senior coaches in the top 5 have only coached their current team.

Glad we have a coach that has coached at 4 different clubs

1. "Pressure point, pressure point"
2. "Show us yer tits"
3. "Hey. See that fire hydrant? Let's..."
4. "Outta my way you big Irish flower or you'll find my stop marks all down yer flower back!"
5. "Outa my way you big skinny long-armed stuck-on-99-games flower or you'll find my stop marks all down yer flower back!"
6. "Ten grand on number 4 please, mate. What's that? Yep, put it on my tab"

... any others?
