I predict the club will announce the following delistings in the next 48 hours-

Davies
Joseph
Mitchell
Collins*
O'Keeffe*

I reckon there will be further announcements once we've sussed out if there's any trade interest in-

Duigan
Ellard
Laidler
McCarthy

If there's no trade interest for these 4 guys, delist them. We might be able to snag a very late pick (#70 odd) or at least help one of these guys get to the club of their choice, a la the JR trade last year. I could see Duigan attracting some interest from GWS, or possibly Richmond might trade for him under the 'Brent Heaver/Sean Charles' rule...

McCarthy is a player I could see us re-rooking, depending what else is available at our picks in the rookie draft, so I hope we don't trade him for a pick we'll never use (eg. #90) particularly if it's the Crows interested.....this isn't just to keep our options open in the rookie draft, but because the Jacobs/Betts situations are still fresh in my mind...

Casboult, Hampson, Lucas & White are very tradeable but I wouldn't be giving them away too lightly and I wouldn't be delisting them personally. Buckley has a way to go, but I would be disappointed if we cut him now. And I'm comfortable with Rowe getting another year.

Hampson's a free agent at the end of next year. Given all he gets to play is generally FF when ever he get a run in the seniors he could well move to somewhere, once his contract expires, where he can finish his career as a first ruck. Often he wasn't even first ruck in the NBs. Must frustrate him. Best to trade him while we can get something for him.

I would guess Hammer has little trade currency at the moment. We would get so little for him this year we're better off keeping him as back up in 2014 and see what compensation we get from the AFL if he leaves under FA rules in 12 months.

Where are we going to find them all.?

Middle Park?

1. Free Agent = 1 possible in Thomas
2. 3. Trade = there must be one or two out there
4. Poach +what about a player like Kennedy not getting a go elsewhere
5.Draft Pick 1 = if we dont give away our first pick to get Boyd get a mid, I think that pick might be part of a 2 or 3 club trade to land Boyd because GWS dont need the pick
6.Draft Pick 2 = might be a good mid ready to step up...ie matured early
7. there must be a mature mid somewhere in Oz
8. Get Tuohy developed to play mid
9. 10. get the engine of the Amigos developed to enable them to play mid

If we could land Thomas as a free agent and recruit a quality ready made mid on the cheap eg) Kennedy/Barlow then things could turn around for us pretty quickly. I'm not too comfortable giving away our first pick for a "ready made" player unless he is quite young eg) Adams from GWS.
In addition to Bondi's list above maybe someone like Tom Bell could surprise us next year and beyond.

Geez hope we are not making a massive mistake. Cooke was going to come last year, so can change his mind.

I like Thomas, but we have a lot of free agents next year, who all have been after top dollar so far, and I can see them sook about not getting their cut next year. Ie Murphy, Gibbs, Walker

Interesting times.

we are crazy to go after him if the reported offer of $3.5m over 5 years is correct

you are right as this will put pressure on retaining some of our better players

could be an absolute disaster

Drewgirl.. you make more sense than the custodians of our club

i need to ask you a question here...

if you were list manager ..... would you sign up Rowe half way through the year (a week before he never plays again)???

Synbad. No way, don't think he is AFL standard. We sign guys up after a few good games. I would not have signed White either. Nor would I have signed Carazzo for 3 years, as a matter of fact would trade him now while he has a sliver of value.

Hampson I would get rid of too.

Luckily we didn't sign up Duigan after the Richmond game.. Hope we are not planning too.

Daisy would be a great acquisition, can never have too many quality mids.

Obviously we need more and more.

Keeping everything crossed we start making some smart decisions. We are just dumb.

We need good midfielders, young ones. Forget the key position players for now, the game is all about mids and plenty of them.

Good skills, and 2 way runners.

Murphy, Gibbs are too lazy. Judd doesn't tackle. Curnow is one dimensional. Carrazzo is too busy kicking the ball high up in the air and flaying his arms around.

Actually feel like I am watching Benny Hill sometimes at our ineptness and laziness at times.

The recruiters should really be made accountable. We recruit the same types of players.

What a waste Watson, Lucas, Hampson, Yarren, Russell have been. To some extent Kruezer as well. How long are we going to wait for him to come good. Works hard but not sure about being number one pick.

We recruit nice boys, who have potential rather than ready made footballers. Take too many risks. None of this athletic bullshit, I want tough mongrel footballers who hurt people.

Daisy has nothing to do with the list management .

He's 100% MM.

And our enthusiasm for Cloke would have been 100% MM as well.
