Our club is a proud club and has one of the most successful histories of all clubs in the AFL. However, as we know from these past few years, this history gives us no mandate for future success. We need to hold on to the old, but embrace the new if our club is to be successful for the future. That is why we should consider all options for jumper designs, despite what our history may say.

You want a jumper for the future, how bout this?

Yeah, but how do you think Walks would like to wear that one? Perhaps we put each players' picture on their own jumper. Let's show them doing something good like a good tackle, a nice pass, a screamer (in Walks case) or a slick goal.

How about the Jezza 68 GF mark?!

Mrs terg liked the mood-colour one where "we might as well look like we play"

I think the use of gold (not yellow) is a viable one, as the colour isn't associated with any other club. The satiny nature of today's jerseys makes me think it would be possible to get a metalic affect from the material.

Isn't gold part of the Lions' design?

IMHO

Don't worry, I've had a crack at that job too. ;)

The umpires are in green now. I really like a predominantly orange jumper, due in part to our historical association with the colour.

Last I heard the umpires had 3 or 4 uniforms in different colours so that no matter which clubs are playing they can pick one that doesn't clash. Has that changed?

You can scrap any designs with vertical white stripes, even if it is only one. There are too many clubs with a vertical stipes as it is.

Agree there. The idea is to provide a jumper which avoids any clashes.

Same goes with horizontals, IMO.

The famous Jezza mark was in the 70 GF. His marks in the 68 GF were probably pretty good too. ;)

Maybe we should where collingwood style jumpers to piss off Eddie?

Just another thought...

Remember that we may be waiting a very long time to play a grand final, and when we get there, we could have to wear a clash jumper.
If that day comes, by god I want us to be wearig navy and white. That's why I don;t want other colours.

Remember, we may one day play a granny in this top - keep it "Carlton-looking" - no gold, yellow, pink green whatever.

I'd have us wear pink with purple polka dots - if we made a grand final I wouldn't give a toss.

Dead right with both comments BH.

hehe thankya my italian friend lol

as for the previous jumpers i like the orange one, think it is something that will be a distinct difference from everyone else as well as being a colour that traditionally belongs to us.

prefer just the reversal of our current jumper though

I reckon this jumper would be a better seller than the conservative one Smorgan has gone with.
(re the topic of increasing revenues etc)
Especially to the important youth/kids market.
Perhaps a new board would have a similar view and see it as one way of projecting a more modern image for the club.
I also think it would be a more appropriate strip for our young team list to be wearing.

I really like the one they have gone with, only problem is that they aren't really marketing it as they should be

I thought we already had an alternate strip, whereby we changed which sponsor's logo was on the front or back of the jumper. That's all the change we need.
I would be happier to pay the cost of the ridiculous white uniform ($100+) for the club NOT to have to use an alternate strip. The whole issue is a very sad joke. Change for the sake of change (and for profit) happens far too often these days.

CFC could use a bit of profit right now.
