We will have to disagree on the this one BKB. No one doubts his talent but for a kid in his third year I believe his output has been average and definitely not an "established player". Not that he can't be but IMO he hasn't produced enough yet.

..he is established, here and anywhere else, as far as his fitness will allow him to be.. ..as we both bemoaned when we drafted him and crisps, these guys due to their significant injury setbacks, will take a few years more than their peers to reach their peak.. ..neither will be dominant until their mid twenties..

That is pure fantasy; most clubs would play Menzel off HF, and do so happily. Elite decision making, elite kick, elite forward nous and can take a grab. So what if he has to work on his tank a bit to play full-time midfield?

Is he lazy? No, so he stays unless someone offers the farm.


I said if he stays up forward permanently that's the prototype. He's done better than Gunston's first 2-and-a-bit seasons.

As an aside - has a strategic element to the pick in question as it limits what St Kilda can offer in relation to Bailey Rice. You can effectively add the rights to him in there too.

I'd leverage them for their first rounder and a player that genuinely will contribute to our 22 now and in the future; it wouldn't take much. If they can't manage giving up Dunstan (and they won't), then I'd want picks.

That being said, Murphy doesn't fit where they're at.

He's versatile but he's not particularly quick and seems to need a lot more conditioning work than was originally estimated.

Would you be happy waiting another season before he can really contribute?

Trading Menzel has to be the worst opinion ever! Opposition clubs will laugh at us even more if we trade him out.

Armfield and Buckley. Both with line breaking speed, but both looking down the barrel.

Are they the same type role players ? Do both, one or none, survive the end of season cull ?

What would Levi's trade value realistically be ?
