Agree Surrey.... This thread is starting to read like the doggies and Essendon* pre match thread....

ANZ Stadium confirmed with me tonight that they will indeed be cutting the grass to AFL specifications.

Disaster averted. Blues by 26 points.

Great stuff Doc.

Had me worried the long 70mm slippery grass, the 2 Friday night games digging up the ground and add a bit of rain, but then again both teams have to put up with that.

I do prefer the grass at 25mm for Aussie rules.

Mate, I'm getting nervous....all the interview with Swans players have been about embarrassment and winning back respect. They are going to be breathing fire, and we all know they do not shirk the contested ball.

Hopefully they're still carrying bruises from the Hawks game and the 2 extra days break doesn't give them an advantage.

@#$%&! spewing if Kreuzer doesnt get up, coz in slippery conditions he can be our extra midfielder and Warnock up against Mumford and Pyke is going to be har work.

Geez I hope Kreuzer gets up and lasts 4 q's, but I know it doesnt look good. The limp on Monday was pretty bad, and then there's the whisper he had an op, and if he did surely he's out.

Come on Bluebaggers...we can win this!!!

Logic tells me we will lose. Logic also told me we would lose against Richmond. Logic told me we would lose the 99PF.

I'm so willing to be wrong though. Finals are funny things. We finished 12-10 in 1999, pretty much the same as this year, got beaten in our first final by 73 points and then made a Grand Final.

You can know in your head we will probably lose but believe that we can win. If you can't just enjoy a finals series and dare to dream then you're just doing it wrong.

Great post....believe...nothing to lose...bonus to be in the finals let alone still alive in the 2nd week of the finals.

Loving the fact we're in it...to win it.

McGlynn out is massive for them given they can't bring back Goodes or LRT. Even if Kreuz doesn't pull up I think I'd still bring in McLean if he's fit. I think he can give us more at stoppages than we'd get from Levi.

Yeah someone posted on Bigfooty on Tuesday that Kreuz had an op on his toe. The poster apparently is usually fairly on the money. Regardless of his recent form, I'd much prefer a fit Kreuz than not but if it's true, I really think Cas can step up.

I'm heading up Saturday morning, looking forward to some pre-match beers at the Novotel with the rest of the faithful and let's hope we can reverse the last final up there! Go Blues!!!!

It will be a massive effort to get up but if they do they will be coming up against a Freo team where half the players would have played 1 game in a month. That could be interesting

Not strictly true. We smashed the Swans in a Who Cares Cup match some years back by almost 20 goals. Setanta and Wee Man Kenna tore it up that day.

I REMEMBER THAT GAME!

My first meeting with CK95 and only meeting with Synbad.

IMO all things being equal we'll go down by about 30 pts.

We need the football gods to smile on us big time.

Fingers crossed.

That sort of stat is scary. The Swans are hardened finals campaigners. What has happened in the past month or two counts for naught - Sydney are tough hombres - I still think we can win, but I warn anyone against thinking they're finished. We should approach this game like they're unbeaten for the season.

If you've ever shot a fox, you know to approach him very cautiously and with another bullet in the chamber......even if he looks dead  .

The other 4 matches were against Hawks x 2, Geelong (at Kardinia Park) and Collingwood.
I think they are struggling however will still be very tough to beat at home.
