Another nervous nelly here... but I am completely disillusioned as a Carlton supporter. We just seem to be in some sort of footballing black hole with non-existant player development, team and coach structures and worst of all passion.

Watching the Ants today only deepened my supporter depression. What the hell has happened to Austin?!!? He looked gone today :banghead:

Heart and head says we will lose tonight and this will only be another confirmation of how bad things are at Princes Park. And I believe we do have serious problems!

I agree totally with what you say. I also watched the Bullants today and I could not identify any player in there who excites me with either skill or commitment. Sure Robinson is all heart and has a crack but realistically he is a standard VFL player IMO

Another shit Sunday for me

Speaking at the Carlton Football Club's annual general meeting, club president Stephen Kernahan told members Ratten's contract had been extended until the end of the 2011 season.

Do we have that option given it seems he is locked in beyond 2010? Or do we have to get the Pratts to dip their hands in the pockets AGAIN?

And to think all of this could have been prevented if those foolish people in charge hadn't re-appointed him so prematurely.

It was not as though anyone would be chasing him .

He has lost the players. That was obvious to me 3 weeks ago. It must be obvious to everyone now.

I could go on and on with the same shit.

Thing is I reckon we have the talent

But most of the players have gone backwards. Thats what happens when you know the situation is hopeless.

If the club says it was just one of those days they are on Mars.

W need to start to look for a new coach and the best coach outhere now for todays AFL footy.

Clearly Ratten isnt the answer

AND IT MUST START NOW

Its not all Ratten's fault. SOme of the players have no guts and are as soft as marshmellow.

They are pathetic but ultimately the buck stops with the coach.

ITS IS THAT SIMPLE GENTS AND LADIES

Gotta look after the sponsors Keogh

Ratten needs help...so do some of these players. And Yes...I left the footy at 3qtr time. I'd seen more than enough. Good side Collingwood, and they didn't let us play well - but in reality, they weren't up against much today.

I was really disappointed to read the article today in the Herald Sun about Carlton fans being hot under the collar. It was condescending bull****. Carlton supporters have proven how loyal we are through record membership numbers throughout the worst period in Carlton history. Then reporter, with agreement from Swan, calls us RIchmond supporters because we don't like what were seeing on the field. Treating us like we're idiots because we want Ratten sacked.

Well facts are facts, our onfield performance is garbage and has been for months now. Changes NEED to be made.

Doc do you think the club will actually do anything about the coaching/assistant coaching situation?

Do they recognise that there is a problem/issue there?

Stay tuned... Triple M have said big news story at the end of the game or tomorrow.. crossing my fingers bye bye Ratten. He was only given the job because he was once a player.

Some players aren't up to it, but seriously this team is better than the past two months. Players are going backwards at a rate of knots, morale appears gone, we have no structure, we are finished, we have reached the stage Pagan reached which was repetitive thumping.

I think that players sometimes want the coach to go, and this is what Im seeing on the field today. The players are not concerned about this game.

The powers that be recognise that the message isn't getting through. Personally I think Ratts is very good coach - but not all the players are responding to their roles and that of life as an AFL footballer. There's half a dozen who can't be coached (in one ear and out the other) or are getting information overload. That's probably harsh - but they're struggling.

There's been some confronting moments, primarily addressed through Leading Teams that hasn't gone over well with some of the coaches and some of the players. Leadership is a big problem. It doesn't come from too many areas and is limited across the board. There's been a push of late to get a senior coach in to help Ratten...so assistants are on edge. A real lack of 25-30 year old age bracket who have leadership qualities. Really need a few more to grow up. Expect a big play for a senior player with oodles of leadership qualities in the off-season. Wheels already in motion. As much as Ratts needs help - Judd needs more help.

That's a ridiculous statement though...and comes from someone who obviously has no idea about professional sport.

So if Ratts can coach, how do we get to the point of being flogged every week?

When it becomes predictable how a game will play out after 10mins, you know a coach can't coach.

I'm watching a team who doesn't care, no fight , no heart, nothing.

Just got home. Left at 3/4 time and it was embarrassing.

Ratten has lost the players.

I miss the good old days when the performances of the last 6 weeks wouldn't have been tolderated!

You know...it's not to defend Ratten if you were to say otherwise.

What exactly does the word 'the' signify in your statement? The talent to beat whom and when and with which coach?

Let's assume we had an average coach, not a good or a poor one. Would you be happy to go forward with what we've got at our disposal now? I mean 'optimistic' happy and not begrudging happy.
