Hey all. It's been a long time since I've posted as some of the veterans here know and I'm only coming on to dispel this stuff.

Chris Yarran's grandad virtually raised him given the issues with Chris's father. He is very ill, and may not have much time left. Chris is very very close to him and is visiting him regularly. There is nothing to be concerned about and the club is very happy with his progress and attitude.

I have to wonder whether Chris would be the subject of some of this stuff if he wasnt an indigenous player. Everyone should take a cold shower

The word is 'hear'. And your post was a waste of space to be honest. Next time you have friend or relative who is close to death think of how Yarran is feeling at the moment. I doubt football is on his mind at this time in his life.

Regards Cazzesman

If it was just that then fair enough but there has been an entire dossier written about the kid
can't recall another that has attracted so much un wanted attention in his first year and when you hear his coach of last year jumping to his defence you know there are underlying issues bubbling below the surface
I don't know why so defensive Caz

What dossier ??

Is that the chicken littles are getting nervous over nothing dossier??

pass thanks

seriously half of you are flowered in the head...... A-grade masochists.....Freud would argue that the tone of your posts, you want him to walk out on the club for the betterment of your unbearable suffering and existential angst....my recommendation...go look for your misery elsewhere and let us enjoy the footy

i dont think people's talking crap about his situation is a race thing, they're simply negative nancies as bluegirl would put it. . People who love jumping to conclusions, and writing off a kid based on sheer rumour and innuendo when the plain facts are staring them in the face, in written form, all but from the proverbial horses mouth itself.

Yarran's going to be just fine. . . To go through what he's gone through and be where he is today takes toughness of the highest degree. . I wouldn't doubt the guy. . Posesses true toughness, something this club and its fans will love him for in the near future.

Have to say that if Yarran reads any of this thread what he would think!

Having left home and everything I knew for another country at a young age I can tell everyone here that the first 6 months is close to unbearable. I thank god that no-one in my family were taken ill during this time.

One thing I know from personal experience is that if his desire to play AFL and be what he is capable of being is strong enough then we have an absolute gun on our hands.

Give him a little time in his hour of need and remember whatever does not kill us makes us stronger. If he comes through this on the other side his resolve and steele will be all the better for it.

Wish u all the best Yazzman ... I am glad u r in the navy blue and hope that u do too and that the club sticking by you in your time of need will prove to u how special and priviledged u r to pull on that all mighty blue guernsey.

Carlton are ur family now and will do everything they can to show u how important u r to them.

Thats what makes Carlton Carlton ...we look after our own ... even in this cut throat business!

Seems like we go through this every year. If Yarran wants to go home we can trade him.

http://www.afl.com.au/portals/0/afl_doc ... 0final.pdf

18.5 No AFL Club shall exchange any Player unless the Player has been given as much notice as possible by the AFL Club of its intention to trade without any duress being applied by the AFL Club, its employees or agents to the player and the Player genuinely consents to the trade.

18.6 In the event that the provisions of sub clause 18.5 operates, in the reasonable opinion of the AFLPA, in a manner inconsistent with the spirit and intention of the parties in introducing that clause, the following provision shall apply from a date to be agreed between the AFLPA and the AFL:

“Save and except where in the opinion of the General Manager – Football Operations, there are exceptional and compelling circumstances that make it harsh and unconscionable for a Player not to be exchanged, no AFL Club shall exchange any Player who has not completed at least one AFL Season under his current contract with the AFL Club or such lesser period as agreed between AFL and AFLPA”.

PS: Paul Bower just signed again for 2 years recently.

I'm just going to go on record (so somebody can embarrass me in future years!) and say that I firmly believe Yarran was exactly the right pick up for our club and where it is at. I've seen nothing from Rich or Ziebell to suggest they fill the deficiencies in our list that Yarran does. And I've seen more than enough from Yarran to indicate that he can be a star.

With a pre-season fitness regime behind him, I think he can and will make a fantastic contribution to our side in 2010.

May be some posters need to take a long hard look at themselves. So Fevola's confirmed that players read TC! Not surprising, it's human nature.
Armchair critics writing vitriolic posts about young kids battling some demons should ask themselves if they are part of the problem.
Are they really Carlton supporters or ego trippers?
