Questions to all Carlton fans:
When you first saw the membership slogan/poster, did it pump you up?
Did it make you excited for next year?
Do you think the slogan alone would give us atleast 1 extra member?
When comparing our slogan to the others out there, don't you feel lucky your a Carlton supporter?
If you answered yes to ANY of the questions above, job done by the CFC marketing department.
It's not about what others think, and it's not about how many games we will win or lose, whether we win the flag or whether Judd is finally going to Richmond as they are in the box seats...this is purely for the Members and Supporters of our club. To renew or to sign up, and this is exactly what this slogan will do.
Infact, out of all the slogans that has ever come out by any club, this is clearly the best
Since you hate the slogan so much Melvey...how high are you gonna put that poster on your wall when you get it signed when you renew your membership?
Dude its not about an extra $25 i'll give them $50
My point is that 'THEY KNOW WE'RE COMING' is a joke. This is coming from a club that no one has any respect for other than us one eyed supporters.
Majority of non carlton supporters will tell you even when we win our next flag that it came from dirty money, hand outs, tanking and so on. I know you'll say who cares what other people think well i'll tell ya thats the impression out there in the football world and in the corporate world to.
From what i understand is that if it weren't for Visy we would have struggled to landed another major sponsor. The only reason Optus still onboard as there sponsorship is value for money on there behalf and the club were keen to move them on thinking they could have landed another big fish
so what exactly is your solution??? shut up shop???
Every team has their flaws or excuses people give them if they are successful... EVERY TEAM...
Adelaide: Two team state... they get alot of local boys wanting to go back home, boring footy
Brisbane: AFL concessions
Collingwood: Favourable draw, Players behaving badly
Essendon*: Salary Cap cheats
Freo: Salary cap cheats, 2 team state, alot of local boys wanting to go back home
Geelong: Father son, and home ground advantage
Hawthorn: Sellouts, bandwagoners
Melbourne: No support, bound to go bust, no home
North: Charity case
Port: same as adelaide
Richmond: Spit on players/coaches, shit for over 20years, scum support
St Kilda: the play rapists, underworld associates, drugos and shit club alot together..least successful
Sydney: Salary cap cheats, afl concession, boring footy
WC: Salary cap cheats, two team state, behaviour issue, drugos, blah
WB: Unsuccessful charity case
Every team have flaws and every team tries to overcome them... This does not mean they should give up
This campaign might not reach you (for obvious reasons), but for one person lost, there'll be 10 people generated.
We have a new board, we have new players, we have got no "oust'd" drugos and we have come back from the dead... sure Dick saved us, but this is why we have a new board, because they'll be able to sustain us. Even with mounting support from members, previous administrations still brought us backward, this admin is a complete 180
What i don't understand is why question their tactics when their tactics are no way similar to previous administrations... this must be a positive. We have gone forward at a rate of speed of light, from every corner.
I just wonder if anything the club would've come up with from marketing, to recruiting, to management, to sponsorship or whatever you would've agreed on... say carlton took cotchin and came with a membership slogan that doesn't depict arrogance...would you not go against that and say they should've taken Kreuzer or we should exploit our perceived arrogance??
Because since the year or whatever i've been on here, you have disagreed with nearly everything the club has done...yet we have moved forward at a massive rate... by that logic, i would hate to think where the club would be at right now if you were in charge.
but it's good there are people like you... it gives us something to do in the offseason
