sorry to put this in this thread as it in't very relevant but does anyone know the email of the cfc for general enquiries? i don't want the membership one just for general enquiries. i've looked everywhere on the cfc site except for wherever they have their contact details.

blues@carltonfc.com.au - that should do it.

thanks wangers - collingwood have cracked 40k. :(

Today is 30 days since the start of the season. From the 30 day mark after the season last year we added another 3629 members.

However last year started later than this year. From this date last year we added another 4899 members.

Assume something in between (4264), add it to the latest figure we had (37200) and add a bit for the 9 days since we got that latest figure (750) and we end up with about 42214.

Take off a little because of the early sign ups due to the Judd factor (-2000) and add a little in new members who would never have signed up if not for the Judd factor (+2000) and we end up with...

42214

That'll do me.

with trying to get 40k+ can Carlton keep this up on the hope they renew each year?

it is alright to sell something with an expire date on it which means you have to resell again next year

which some members will not renew again

the other thing is once a membership is sold the club needs to look after its memberbase so that they will renew...

keeping your members renewing each year is far more important then breaking membership records

not good to see people joining for 12 months and then not renewing the year after

once the renewing members have signed up then would be the time to seek new members and break records

just my opinion but still i would like us to beat the pies record

cheers
oz

Last year the club went quiet on the membership figures until we had broken the record. There hasn't been an update for a while which makes me think we are gettng close to the 40k mark.

Why can't we do both at once?

The club's been far more pro-active in chasing down old members this year than any previous year. Letters, emails, SMS messages etc.

Every club has a decent percentage of members who lapse in any given year. People move interstate or overseas, have changed financial situations, die and so on.

The important thing is to give old members every reason possible to renew every year whilst also creating new members at every opportunity.

If we win the next couple of games watch the figure rise by 7-10%.
If we beat melbourne convincingly then we might even cack $40K.

Think about it though, we have nearly cracking $40K and not playing finals yet imagine what memberships will be like when we are peaking in Top 3 positions.

i agree. before the collingwood game, it was written in the age that we had 37, 200. even still now, the club is claiming to have 36k. after the collingwood game, i'm sure at least another 2,000 have or are planning to sign up so i think we're pretty close to the 40k mark. can't work out why the club wants to keep this so quiet though. :?

I agree, the club has been great this year in regards to chasing members - I think it comes down to cash. SMS's, letters, hiring people to phone (unless they use players ;) ) - just to sign up lapsed members costs money. I understand that this also generate revenue, but cracking 40k is a much greater reason to go for it...

I reckon a win this week (hopefully comprehensively), and especially a win against the Crows next week - will have the membership lines running hot again - particularly if we are in the 8 by that time...

...wishful thinkin', but hey...

Terrific effort by the club to have the most junior members. Young Blues supporters on the move.

Are we over 40K Agro? That would certainly be a flowering great result.

We have so gone quiet on this at the moment.
