We ignored defence for 2+ years and sadly, Teague is going to pay for it.

We haven't ignored defence at all - we have players that are too lazy to run back and lay tackles.

Focussing on ball movement doesn't mean you take players away from behind the ball. Pressing up and intercepting exit kicks from the opposition is a part of defence also running back behind the ball with speed. The faster joggers in defensive transition are weeded out the better - we have the worst midfield in this regard.

They are at fault almost 80% of the time in defensive transition. Lack fitness/desire/hunger/talent all of the above who knows.

Bolton put 18 players behind the ball and won 4 games in 44.... major failure.

Can't play homogenous football and expect to win flags.... ball movement is the alpha and omega in todays game and turn overs will occur and either current crops work rate in defensive transition improves or find players that can.

But you love Cripps. He's one of those.

He has been recently, yes. But has credits. Can afford one way runner in the middle not 3-4. Cripps is more damaging moving forward than anyone else in the squad so he gets my vote.

Not right to have one rule for one and different set of rules for the others.

Stuff those credits. He's used them up in the last 2 seasons. The time is now.

This conditional bullshit has to stop ... for everyone ... including the coaches.

Pick and choose the players who don't pick and choose when they want to do the right thing: team rules.

Selfishness gets us nowhere. One for all and all for one!

And we have to many selfish players that Teague does nothing about except pick them every week blindly

How much influence does the senior coach have on the MC.

I cannot fathom how Cottrell keeps getting games doing nothing every week while the other young players in Honey, Ramsay and even Kemp have not had a look in.

Fisher wants to be a small forward to guarantee his place in the side. He isn't, he is a mid so play him there.

"Manage" some of the high paid recruits to show if they under perform their place is not secure.

Much as I hate to say it, the bastard would not stand for a fraction of what we are dishing up at the moment.

This is one reason Teague has lost me. Having players like him and others because they can run all day on a wing has us fighting with one hand behind our back before every bounce. It’s done my head in.

I would suggest that Lloyd is very unlikely to be at the club next year.

Source isn’t Bigfooty. And yes it’s just rumour. But it’s doing the rounds.

Takes two years to learn a game a plan - its not the game plan itself its recruiting the right players in the right positions able to execute - country football has no such problems as they're well....not AFL standard. Taken Buckley some five years to get the right players he wants to play to his style and still muffed it with a weak forward line. So it's not easy ..... Teague cant even get his current players on the park, you cant blame him for that or you have screws loose.

North have shown more in the last month than we've shown in 2 years. Its players to some extent, but as a few have pointed out, we're reliant on Cripps, Harry or Walsh having a day out just to get near teams. We lose a winger or HB and reshuffle the entire team. System and roles are non existent.

Bulldogs will kick a score. We need to kick more goals. Something like that. Wow such a complex game strategy.

No they havent - they have a full team to select from - we havent had that luxury yet.

In the past month NM has shown more than anyone in the competition..... 80% disposal efficiency against us is nuts - crazy high almost aberrational.

No they haven't and nor have any team in the competition practically ever, aside from maybe one or two fortunate weeks in a blue moon.

How is your perception of who is and who isn't in their best 22 a fact?

Teague is an old Norfs man. That approach is right out of the Pagan coaching manual (sans Carey).

Walsh do you have a job? Or are you on the Teague payroll to post on here full time? Every time I check in it seems like every second post is yours

I admire Walshy's loyalty. Also provokes thought.

Some of his comments lack balance, but then again tht can apply to me and a lot of others on footy sites all over the land.

Keep posting Walshy. I don't think you're right that we can create a uber attacking team and kick more goals than everyone, but I like that we can kick goals, but winning games is what its all about....ask my kids....they want to win a few if they lose a few...not lose most of the time since they were born.

I agree but if he's trying to talk up Teague, his posts are often counterproductive to what he's trying to achieve.
Statements about defence being easy to teach and taking 2 years to implement an attacking game style are harmful to Teague. They give the impression that Teague has no idea.
FWIW, I believe Teague had no chance on Saturday. We went into the game with no weapons due to injury and when we failed to capitalise on our opportunities, the players lost confidence. We were sitting ducks structurally through no fault of the coach.
Unlike Hardwick, I admire that Teague hasn't used injuries as an excuse (when he has every right to)

Seriously how hard is it to tell players to stand behind the ball and apply some effort to run and defend?

It doesn't take skill - it takes heart and desire...and fitness.

We control the ball with ball movement would ideally mean opposition run around more, saving gas for players to apply defensive efforts. But some of these players give no effort at all - zilch.
