Been a disappointing year, no doubt and I for 1 have maintained throughout that the list is better than it's showing.
Having said all that, Malthouse gets a lot of credit over the past 6-8 weeks. He has installed a work ethic that I feel we haven't seen in this group. He has twicked the game plan to utilise our playing groups strengths. He has given them a more defensive edge. He has setup a better forward structure to allow us to go to KP forward. He has done a fair bit and it's obvious.

The test will come next year when the team has something to play for and must produce this all again at that time. That is going to be were he finally gets marked at. I believe in these players and I feel finally they believe in themselves, the coach and game plan. I want success god damit and maybe just maybe we are starting to see the light.

@#$%&! Surrey gets it. Surrey. Is Mark Holden still a thing? Give him a touchdown if so. Or whatever it is these days. What's that bloke with the afro and stupid sunnies' deal?

Didn't MM takeover the 2nd Ranked list according to Champion data? And Hinkley the 18th ranked list?

Hinkley is so handsome.
And cool.
And funny.

Can't believe we didn't get Hinkley

Mick was very impressive in this interview

Mentioned two areas which he says have improved as the season progressed - Leadership and mental toughness

(our teams two major weaknesses for some time now - perhaps since the early days of Pagan. We were screaming out for a Selwood/McVeigh/Hodge type captain. As a club we Never addressed that gaping hole that Pagan opened up in his 3rd season as season coach)

I'll believe it when I see it from this playing group. Not sure how you get leadership and mental toughness from consistently losing close games from very winnable positions.

That's why teams lose too many close games. Weak leadership and poor mental toughness.

Well i estimate that we would have lost by over 450 points last night if we didn't have Mick and Wiley at the helm. We should consider increasing micks wage and sign him up for a further 5 years. Shear genius last night in the box, Hinkley looked rattled

Its Pagan years revisited. The disappointing thing is this loss could have come 5-6 weeks ago and by now there would be massive heat on Malthouse to go
Now we are going to have to sit through another year of being the worst coached team in the comp

Wrong, they are a very astute coaching panel and support their industrious leader

The slow boundary predictable game plan is the way of the future
Going side way and backwards and along the boundary is just a ploy to weaken and hypnotise the opposition into boredom, while we preserve our strength with all our players in the back half with no forward targets.
When we finally clear the ball out of our back half be boot it to our outnumbered forward and defend one wing while the exhaust themselves creaming us through the middle while we are running to make position and rendering our defenders useless and outnumbered whilst scoring freely and at easy, it’s the perfect rouse.
If only the opposition coach’s would understand our game plan and go along with us it would make mickys job so much easier to explain how much progress we have made under him and why all his excuses and propaganda is logical and reasonable
Um we had injuries and they are a very very good side

I don't know but the whole thing is a disgrace and an embarrassment. MM let's himself down badly by these childish and petulant performances. Don't know what he is trying to achieve but I can't see anything positive coming out of it.

Just more negativity that will come back on the club and there is simply no need. Very disappointing.

That would have to go down as one on the most ignorant and ill informed comments ever on this site, and that's saying something.

Not sure on the history but notice that the channel 7 reporter's question gets magnified over those of the others on the floor?

'Stevo" jumps in over other journos and proceeds to offer nothing to the press conference (comments) trying to get a response to big note himself. Always playing the "Mick" card as he tries to saddle up for a ride with his trademark shizen commentary.

Gutterball and it would be nice if that kind of journalism (if you call it that) was barred from the after match press conferences. MM responds with plausible answers on what can be shared in such a forum and I'll continue to watch the after match without issue - and more than happy for Stevo to be shot down at any opportunity if he continues on with self perceived hard hitting questions.
