Can’t afford to the ball over the way we did against Melbourne. Brisbane will make us pay way more than the dees did. We really need to be more clinical going forward. Hopefully we’ve got the nerves out of the way over the first two finals and will play with a bit more freedom on Saturday

Neale is a superb player, can't deny that. I still think our midfield goes slightly deeper than theirs though.

I think our backline is more solid than theirs. If we are switched on, their forwards will struggle.
But it all depends on the midfield.
We are tough but must apply maximum pressure the whole game - can’t allow Neale to get easy ball, can’t allow McCluggage to get time and space to deliver.
And we need to hit our own targets.

We do those three things and we win:
1) Switch on from go to whoah
2) Unleash maximum pressure
3) Hit our targets (field and goal kicking)

Point 3 is the problem.

Yes, I am confident on 1 & 2.
We got away with terrible kicking against the Dees. But the Lions are particularly good at making teams pay for their errors.
But we’ve defied the odds many times in the past few months. We’re still standing!
Ps. Also a huge Prince fan but the obvious problem with 1999 is what happened the following week…

McKay, Martin, Boyd and Hollands into the Blues team. Kennedy, Cuningham, Kemp and Owies dropped according to Ch7 which gets the embargoed teams

Or Saad takes Cameron and Boyd can be the outlet

Smart changes. Hollands gives us more run and Boyd gives us a small lock down defender who can also generate attack from half back. Both are needed. Ballsy calls by the MC but I think they’ll pay off. With Payne out I’m feeling confident

Yes I'd have been more concerned if we'd just done the minimum to get Harry and Jack back in

Has Boyd been playing in any 'scratch matches'? I'm just concerned about his fitness.
Must admit I thought If Boyd came in it would be to replace Cincotta - surprised to see them both in the side.

Yes definitely ballsy.
Can’t work out the kemp one. Marchy has to play on hipwood/Gov then which means weiters has to play on joe and can’t play loose.
Surely kemp a better number 2 than Marchy.

Owies bit stiff. Has a shocker last week, but what is he 3rd for our goal kicking?

I'm going to reserve judgement because the match committee have got it right no matter what we think week in week out, but Kemp getting dropped is a big surprise and not what I expected at all.

FWIW I'd prefer Kemp to Marchy, but as I said, the match committee have invariably got out right for the last 3 months so who am I to question. It just shows the depth of the list these days

boyd for kemp is exactly what we need. DC as sub bcos he can play all three lines. we needed mobility and we found a bit.
