Do they ever get any actual injuries?!

Like Darcy Moore 3 weeks ago. Does what looks like his ACL .... carted off. Magic happens and could play the following week but decides to have 1 weeks rest then back to it. Up and at'em.

As it's been mentioned here ...... our guys get a cut to the leg and they miss weeks !!!!

I get it….but when Walsh went off few weeks back I was sure that was another bad ankle injury….next minute 30 disposals in a quarter and BOG…..dodged a massive bullet there.

That's the exception.

Everyone else does something minor and misses weeks.

The Pies really mixed it up last week. Starting midfield of Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Maynard. Sidebottom attended more than 50% of their centre bounces.
Josh Daicos played wing yet according to the stats easily had the most centre bounce clearances (7 of 13, the Swans had 7 for the game!) He's playing excellent footy.
Similar to us last week, a lack of personnel in the middle (DeGoey, Adams) made their set up unpredictable and somewhat dangerous.

Lat night on Fox Channel, there was discussion about Carlton's ruckmen.

Leigh Montagna gave TDK the nod ...albeit not a convincing argument...just because he was competing for groundball and clearances were up on last week
Brown, King and Whateley all selected Pittonet.

King's reason was along these lines..."TDK is a bit 'How you going'. Pittonet, just wants to kill his opponent"

I hope Pitto does.

i tell you what if i watch our players just watch and give sidebottom the space to casually and slowly dispose of the ball without pressure i am going to lose it. I dont know what it is but he seems to have all the time in the world and no one hits him hard. Just smash him someone please. !!

12 touches according to

https://www.blueseum.org/Robbert+Klomp

It was awarded by Lou Richards though. Says enough.

I hope Pitto does.

TDKs stats while he played were very good
I mean he did well given his relative inexperience
But our clearance numbers when Pitto played early in the year were great. He fueled our onballers.
Voss clearly hoping Pitto can regain that form. But how long does it take? Having Cerra back in there will help somewhat. And I won't be shocked if Hewett gets picked given he has trained fully for 2 weeks I think.
I wouldn't be surprised which way they go with the rucks. TDK did a good job while Pitto was out but looked to have started to suffer fatigue and last week played in the wet which isn't ideal.
It all starts in the guts for us.

As do I  Btw, can someone please remind that flog his own team (of which he's the games record holder) lost their last 6 games of the 2018 AFL season, after being on top of the ladder come Rd 16. As far as chokes go, I don't think ours would measure up to Port's, Kane......ooh quick, there's a fire you need to put out!!!! :donk:

The longer the week goes, the more I'm changing my mind.
I'd drop LOB and get Hayes to run with Josh Daicos.
Walsh to go head to head with Sidebottom if he plays wing. (I'd expect that if DeGoey returns)
Keep Doc in the midfield rotation, Setterfield to shut down DeGoey when he's in the middle, Pendlebury when he's not.
Cripps, Doc, Setterfield, Cerra, Fisher, Durdin, Walsh midfield rotation with Cerra and Walsh occasionally rotating wing.
Keep an eye on Nick Daicos.

IMO, we can afford to run tags. Take the best 3 or 4 players out of each team and we have the better remaining quality. Even with our injuries.

I really believe that, despite missing Hewett, Kennedy, Boy and Newman.

I like Hayes more than LOB.

Bringing Williams straight back in has got disaster written all over it… BUT, he doesn’t need to bring that much to the table to unseat O’Brien or Newnes. Some might add Stocker to that list, but his combativeness counts for plenty in a game like this.
