Watching swans v crows and my 11yo asked how good we'd be if we had jacobs, betts, kennedy, waite, garlett and yarran.

It wasn't his point. He wasn't discussing the merits of the trade. Merely making a present day observation.

Our ruck issue is killing us.
We should have rookied one from the state leagues who can actually handle a Sherrin.

Has any player Carlton have ever drafted gone on to win an AFL premiership with another team?

Almost a guarantee this year with WCE, North and Sydney...

Except Hawthorn exist

Hawks need a miracle to win it this year.....

Mind you I thought that last year and the miacle happened ;)

Oops. .and apologies. ..missed the 'drafted'. That leaves Adelaide, North and WCE as the front runners

It kills me to agree. That fumblefest from Phillips on the wing in the last was pretty fugly though.

Pretty fugly....that's an oxymoron, yes?

That's not really a compliment

First time the 4 GWS boys from the 2015-2016 trade played in the one team. Really like Plow + Sumner.

First time I've come around to the idea that Gibbs might have to go.

I've generally been of the opinion that you don't get better by trading away your best players but Bryce almost seems to be giving us a false illusion of having a good player in the side with his sub par performances.

If we trade him for a draft pick, would we be happy with a Milera type from this year's cohort for example?

I think you're right. We need to accumulate as many top picks as we can and make sure we nail each pick in the draft, it's the only way up.
