Our membership is crawling along , a few factors I believe
1/ the Fixture ( Port - sunday night ,richmond thursday night ,Essendon* sunday night .st.kilda monday night ) what are we the guinea pigs of the AFL???
2/ not winning ( would help if we beat the druggies this week)
3/ ticket prices( especially at Etihad)
4/ Foxtel( live games every week)
5/ no confidence in the board and playing list

Am I right

That's what I told the caller "from the club" last night trying to sell me $200 raffle tickets.

Hawthorn have just achieved thier 7th staright membership record. Compare this club say around 2005 to us both on and off the field and see what a club with strategy, vision and respect for thier fans and members can do. Then look at us.

I just heard thier CEO on SEN and he put the success down to 3 things:

1. Good management
2. Good decisions (e.g. going to the MCG/Tasmania/Waverly)
3. Looking after your fans and members.

Hawthorn have nearly 10000 1 and 2 game Tas members .Playing at the MCG very few Hawks have reserve seats ,why would you it seats 100000 .Being successful helps any membership. Success =more members = more $$$$$.Lets hope we get the MCG as soon as possible

You have to have the right people in place making good decisions which are in the interests of the fans to get the members. Success won't last forever but good management can and should.

I hope Essendon* folds.

Haven't renewed yet. I want to support my club but don't want to support a board that appears to have no idea how to run a football club.

One kid has dropped off in the last couple of years and another is losing interest. I'll probably end up renewing just to keep her invested but it's a hard sell.

Supporters will be queuing up now to join up after last night.

I'm pretty sure that Jeanne's 5000 are already included in our current numbers as there was a big jump in our membership numbers back in Jan/Feb, she may have to kick in another 5000 if we are to "crack" 50,000 this year.
