If they land Cloke the entire forward structure would have to be rebuilt it would mean Hendo would become a backman for sure - Walker most likely need to reinvent himself again - Casboult Hampson and Mitchell will be reserve players and a big question mark on what to do with Waite and Warnock
We have a stack of players that could play second fiddle to Cloke up forward but no one is a real standout
IF Cloke came...
Cloke key forward. Waite second tall (he'd be unstoppable as the second tall. Could even play the swingman wing role). Second ruckman / third tall - say Casboult, but could be Hampson or Rowe They fight for that spot. Walker mid-size forward, Betts and Garlett smalls (as an example. I think Betts and Garlett should have more time in the midfield, so Murphy, Gibbs etc might have time forward).
Warnock I would trade.
Give Mitchell a full season in the twos. Groom him to hopefully take over from Waite as the second tall alongside Cloke.
If you could insert a "key forward" other than a tool like Cloke, I'd really like this Ziggy. Butcher, maybe?
Again, we'd have to trade for Butcher, although he'd be on a lot less money. Not available anyway.
Out of interest, a lot of people on here seem to think that Cloke is a tool. Can I ask why? Other than this negotiation, which has got messy and has father David's fingerprints all over it), what has Travis Cloke done that makes him a tool? I am unaware of any off-field trouble, his team mates seem to like him, and on field he puts in, has had a couple of great years and managed to kick 50 goals in an ordinary year.
Seems to me that sentiment comes from the fact of this current negotiation and the fact that he plays for Collingwood. Reasons of emotion and not logic if you ask me.
