Yes. And that's what I was trying to point out even if we win our last 2 and North beat Freo next week...

Here's my best hopes...

R22 (We beat Suns by 60, North beat Freo by 30)

Image

R23 (We beat St Kilda by 30, Freo beats Melb by 60)

Image

An all blue and white GF?!

Had a go trying to be as conservative as possible:

Rd.22 Carl def GCS - 30 pts
Nth def Freo - 12 pts

Rd.23 Carl def StK - 12 pts
Freo def Melb - 60 pts

And this ends up with....

Carlton 52 pts 111.8%
Fremantle 52 pts 111.4%

Two key conditions need to happen to lock in 8th spot in 2012.

If on Sat 25/08 in Round 22 CFC defeat Suns by above 90 points,
and on Sun 26/08 NM beat Freo by 1 point then
in Round 23 on Sat 01/09 say Freo beat Melb by 100 points.
If Freo's winning margin is less than 100, then only requirement is to beat St Kilda.

The required winning margin will be known before the game starts on Sunday 02/09.

I can't see West Coast losing to Collingwood (though I wouldn't mind that happening).

If I go with what I think will happen.

North to beat Fremantle by about 5 goals. They may get Wells back and are looking super duper at the moment.
Carlton conservatively to smack up Gold Coast by 10 goals. This could be as much as 15 goals, but 10 will be enough.

Carlton to beat St Kilda by as little as 1 point. It could be more. It just needs to be a win.
Then it won't matter if Freo beat Melbourne by 100 points. Also, how the dickens can Freo play Melbourne in Round 16 and again in 23? That's bollocks.

The end result, unless somehow Collingwood do the unthinkable this weekend, will be Carlton travelling to Perth in Week 1 of the finals.

Then we can shove it right up those Duckers.

Who cares who we play. After all we been through this year, for us just to make it will be a fantastic reward for the boys........ We can give anyone a shake up no matter where if we play like we did on the weekend, and get no fresh injuries.

got a feeling this will be the most likely scenario.

I don't mind if we play the Norf, in week 1..as long as it's at the 'G'.

You guys are all forgetting one scenario that looks obvious to everyone except Carlton supporters
Essendon* beat both Richmond and Collingwood by 100+ points and they knock both Carlton and Freo Out

It could happen :)

Still $2.80 to make the 8 with the bookies.

Anything above $1.90 is value as far as I'm concerned.

how weird, would that make the Aints favourites against us last round? In a two horse race this is good value.
