Why do you bother engaging DB? Most of us just don't waste our time. I mean, it's not as though there is a collective development of understanding of the issue being discussed.

In Figer's defence he's stating that they had no influence.....not knocking them personally in the way I think he was alluding to.

You blokes crack me up with all your carrying on and oneupmanship..... and the pictures some of you post thinking you are all so deadly!...

and if we'd not lost our concentration in the 2nd quarter last week, we would have been a chance
and if we'd played smarter football in our last two finals we would have gone into the second week
and if we'd come to play with passion and switched on, we may have beaten Nth, Freo or Haw at Etihad last year
and had we not been so lazy and wayward with our kicking against Rich, we would have belted them by 10 goals

So what do you suggest to rectify those problems, as subjective as they may be?

I'm reflecting that we had plenty of the play, but bumbled our way into the 50.

I'm not saying "imagine if we'd just scored one..."

Thanks for the couple of "cheer ups" ... I's getting a bit depressed about it all last night.
But we move on ...

I had a look at the replay today ... glutten for punishment I suppose, but it gives you a good chance
to check a few things and perhaps alter your initial impressions after seeing it live.

Poor Collins. The kid got the ball a few times, but stuffed it up pretty well every time. He can obviously
play but must have been extremely nervous. He needs some confidence building Ant-time.

Eddie was ok in a couple of contests, but overall struggled to get near it. Again. Ant-time.

Curnow is gun. So is Murphy, but we knew that.

Four times Gibbs kicked hurriedly without looking. That's a lot for a top-liner. He needs to steady a bit,
use a few evasive skills and risk taking a hit. Wild kicks ==> turnovers.

Oh, and between Gartlett playing on and Simmo putting it out on the full Judd drilled it straight down an Essendons players
throat at half back. Everyone makes mistakes, just some are highlighted more than others.

Anyway, that's that, now lets $%@$% up Adelaide.

Heaps are talking like Kreuzer will solve all our problems. Take Henderson’s form after coming back from injury (not nearly as serious as Kreuzers). Bit scratchy, not too sure of himself. Being a big guy it will take Krooz a good while to get back to the sort of form we saw him in early last season. Additionally Henderson is a project. I think he could become as valuable as JR is to West Coast if we just give him matches and persist. I remember him getting confident and being quite a handful in latter games last season. If Waite (God forgive me) goes down with an injury, we are looking a bit rudderless up front. If we can get this kid up to speed and remember he is big and these guys take some time to mature, we will reap the rewards. If we can get some structure up forward, a couple of big guys hitting the packs hard and proven little blokes like Jeffy and Eddie in and around those packs, we could be looking very good up front too.

It is not the end of the world, no one predicted we would win that contest yesterday - we should have but hey lets move on and crush the crows.

I watched to replay too. Something i didnt see on the day (toilet break) was when Russell kicked out with only 30 seconds to go in the 3rd quarter and overstepped the line. The ball was bounced and rushed through for another behind. Costly in the end.
There are so many what ifs and if only when you watch the replay.
I thought the end result was pretty good as i felt neither team deserved to lose. That final quarter was a classic and as exciting as i can remember for quite a while.

I agree, it was a very good game. As a contest it was a classic to watch. The commentators said as much. Hopefully the media will start to talk more about us during the round of talk shows during the week. Has anyone else noticed that we don't get much love from the media?

I watch AFL 360, On the Couch, Before the bounce, just about every week. I keep waiting for the briefest discussion about the team I love and all I hear about is how great the pies are, how Buddy rules the universe and how fantastic Essendon* are going to be this year.

We get as much love from the media as I do from my ex's

None of the so called experts tiped us against Essendon*? No love! With our midfield and forward line firing, we could thrash anyone, couldn't we?

I'm happy when we're not mentioned. Because I know we'll only be mentioned when something bad has happened.

I think you should acquaint yourself with The Translator

Yeah that is true. Only the really good or really bad get mentioned. St Kilda are getting killws at the moment. Maybe it is best if we continue to fly under the radar?
