I dont know the ins and ours exactly...

Ive heard 2 versions... one is we are waiting on who else we pick up and getting creative with values and lengths etc...so he is doing us a favour..

The other was that his manager came up with a new 'concept' which needs to be signed off on by the AFL...

Either way he has agreed to terms and its just anhairs breath from officialdom..

2 years is a good get for Cloke. I think he deserves it, been great in 2008. I see him starting the year in our best 22 in 2009 ahead of Hampson. Three pronged attack with Kreuzer and Warnock.

Agree, I think Cam starts the year, will probably be pushed for selection in the latter half and then gives us depth/insurance policy/versatility in his second year. Hopefully.

To be a strong side we need players on the fringe pushing hard for selection to keep the first 22 on their toes.

That's the big $64,000 question. He needs to lose a few kgs to improve his pace I would guess; effectively writing him off for the ruck position.

He lacks the pace required for today's footy.

I'm glad he's been re signed; but 2 years

I guess it's called insurance in case Hartlett and Edwards don't shine.

I can buy the mongrel part of his game; he's no animal though.

Don't get me wrong, I like the kid. He just needs a few adjustments and to train for a position. He can't be a heavy short ruck and a fast tall. It's one or the other. If it's ruck, he's too short.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Cam already shed some weight and look promising as a forward/ruck instead of a short ruck/forward?

I think he's very much down this pathway already, hence the signing.

I saw a lack of pace with my own eyes. It was blatantly obvious. He and Fish couldn't keep up with their opponents in the forwardline.

He was unable to put forwardline pressure on his opponents; note plural.

Perhaps there was a mismatch. If so, one must understand that he doesn't pick his opponent when playing in the forwardline. I've seen the result before from a red headed captain.

Perhaps a changed game plan and some dominant possession by the Blues in 2009 will help.

Again, I state, I really like the kid. I've met him, and can say I have yet to meet a nicer bloke to chat too. He is handy, I'll give him that. I really hope he can gain some pace. I don't know how, but I know it is needed in the modern running game.

Does anyone think he has the pace required for the modern game?

He certainly bamboozled quite a few Lions at the Gabba this year.

Was great viewing.

I am sick of waiting for this Murphy contract to be finalised and announced. First he is waiting for Warnock, and now ROK. Seriously he is our number 1 priority, should be the first one signed.

Why didnt Waites contract or others Waite ?

I dont understand why the club would not be nervous without an actual signature.

Remember ROK verbally agreed to sign, only to be swayed to leave.

Nothing like an actual signature.

Someone please set the record straight..... Sick of all the innuendo.

Innuendo on chat rooms I suppose. I suppose I am a big ignorant on these matters. Would have thought that you dont mess around and get your youngies signed nice and early thats all.

I know he wont go, but the slightest door opening makes me nervous.

So this supposed unusual contract which the AFL needs to sign off, when is it going to be done ?
