Of course it's cool PJ......the only thing is....I've got a fair bit of stuff ready to put up post season already....as long as our paths don't cross with material.

Why don't you PM me with your ideas / material so that doesn't happen?

Basically got lots of articles from 2002.

Yeah it was a shit period, but there are some good ones in there.

Can rustle up some from 99/2000 too.

I'll keep looking and let you know what else I can find.

Sounds cool.....I've got nothing exciting from those years in particular.

Just having a look through some of my stuff, I've got a copy of the 99 prelim final record still in perfect nick. Likewise the semi against West Coast and the GF against the Roos.

Also got some 03/04 stuff. A VERY early Setanta O'hAilpin article plus his very first signature he ever gave out as a player at Carlton. Synners, Vintage and Moshe25 can vouch for that one.

Doesn't have to be exciting at all. I love looking back on it all regardless if it's good or bad.

Got a poster of Kouta's day out against the Crows in 01 in that final before his second knee. Has his stats and everything. Towelled up Bickley, Riccuito and Smart that day.

Looks like you'd have the Modernistic or Avant Garde material against my Masters period.....although; I have got a fair bit of post Wayne Brittain material too.

Yeah something along those lines.

I only started collecting articles like mad back in 2002.

99 and 01 were just for finals.

P.S. By exciting I meant interesting.....that has always been my mantra to make the thread interesting.....especially to the younger posters who may have only heard of players names from books or their Dad.

I agree with you....start your own individual thread....then it's your own.

But be warned....there's a hell of a lot of work involved !

You can only scan pages in sections....then reduce those sections.

Then you end up with a jigsaw that has to be joined and glued up into more small sections; which have to be reduced again etc etc.

Trouble is....sometimes the end product (to fit onto a computer screen) is so small in comparison to the original master copy....the prints so small; you can't read it!

And....if you're doing it from home....you use a hell of a lot of printer carts and Reflex!

Anyway.....Good Luck!

hey Warbs,
thanks so much for telling me about this thread. I've spent the entire morning and most of last night pawing over it.

bloody magnificent!

i'm so jealous of you mob in Melbourne who could go to watch the Blues every weekend. I love the Blues with a passion, but have only seen them in the flesh about 20 times max. I had to make do with the wireless when i was growing up in Perth in the 60s and 70s. and then and the Winners on the ABC in the 80s :)

The best games i saw (live) were a couple in the 90s at Subi when we knocked off the eagles (god i HATE those pricks) by less than a kick, and my favourite - round 3 of 01 or 02 (i think) Friday night at the G when we came from behind to towel Essendon*. My first ever outing to the MCG. What a thrill it was to give the bomber fans shit on the train that night.

i've really enjoyed reading all this thread, thanks again!

Thanks mate...appreciate that and glad you liked it.

Hopefully; after the draft; I might fire it up again to fill in the midseason hiatus.....watch out for it then......

Warby

Good to have it back.
The good old days. Hope this year is the good new days.

I now have Adsl, and can look at a lot of the pics.
Was a bit slow on 56K

Great to see this brought back.

Warby, I havent yet done as promised and started adding this to the Blueseum, will need to wait for a volunteer to do it or when I get some time (when I go back to work  ). But it will get done...

Question for posters and users of the Blueseum though...

Should we set it up as a 'Warby's Scrapbook' - a travel through Carlton's history, and put it under fun stuff on the site? We canalways link the photos back to the player's galleries, but a walk-through this with a Blueseum 'personality' like Warby's write-ups might be interesting.

Lol. That pic always makes me laugh. Is it possible Warby and I are the only two people in the world who own the book it comes from?

OK......looks like I'd better rustle up some good stuff ASAP!

I've still got heaps of it....it's the preparation that takes time!

I wasn't sure....with Dick Pratt and Judd and Kreuzer arriving; that there'd be an Scrapbook audience this year....if y'all bear with me; I'll fire it up !

My favourite all time great Carlton player is Wayne Johnston.

I'm lucky enough to see every game he ever played.....not as powerful and intimidating as John Nicholls.....not as exquisitely talented as Jezza..
..not as flamboyant and enigmatic as the Buzz.....but.....Johnno was THE big match player.....especially against Collingwood...
.he was the archetypal big game matchwinner.

Reckon I could write about Dom all day....but here's just a few things I've put together about "the Man".....it'll be in two different posts.

The first pic of this post shows some of the boys after winning the 1981 Flag....from the left is Peter Bosustow..next to him is..; his mate from Perth
Tony Barber who was Host of "Sale of the Century" (Temptation) at the time; (and fanatical Blues supporter)..
.then The Dominator.....then David "Swan" McKay (at the rear)....Greg Wells; who came from Melbourne to Carlton to be a Premiership player..
..Phil Maylin....Jimmy Buckley....and Ken "Bomba" Sheldon.....then there are a few words about this once in a lifetime player.

you brought up some vivid memories I have of the sensational dominator. One of my all time favourite blues (although bruce doull is untouchable in my eyes).
