The false dawn lasted 5 years and 3 finals series. Then got the sack when we won "only" 11 games with a depleted side. I'd kill to win 11 games right now.


Don't bother mate, the pro-Malthouse folks have an innate ability to take all the evidence on board and come to a conclusion at polar opposites to all common sense. Malthouse takes a team that had looked top-four favourites before an injury crisis, takes them down to 9th, then 13th (or wherever we were last year) to clearly the worst team in the league, with no spirit and no clue, but somehow his appointment for $1m/year was not a bad idea, and this on-field disaster is totally independent.

No one is 'pro Malthouse' anymore, we are just anti 'sack the coach and we are on the way to recovery' - it runs much deeper than that.


It's not that everything will become rosy once MM is gone. It's about salvaging the talent we do have, because every single player on our list looks headed for utter ruin and despair - it;s hard to turn a career around when your love of the game is gone.

What really amazes me is the support the super duper coach is still getting. Anyone else would have been given their marching orders. Was always a super duper dumb decision.

But the boundary line is the Malthouse method. Outdated and outcoached.

For all the baggers of Murphy and Gibbs. They and Judd have had 30 of the 84 contested possessions amongst them. More than a third of the teams. Gibbs more than anyone and Murphy second. Its not as if these guys are not putting in.
