So true PPW. Seems like very few of us can see through that bullshit though.

At least Malthouse has given me some hope this week! We are about to go into 11 in his premiership clock....in other words - Simpson, Walker, Judd, Scotland, Jamison & comp. have 2 years to put it together before the next wave. I agree with MM and Lloyd has no f#%cking idea.

So you think the playing list is in good shape then?

Youre OK with the fact that the vast majority of the players we have drafted over the last 5-6 were cut as quickly as the we're drafted?

You don't care we have gone from second youngest list to second oldest in 6 years due to poor drafting?

Yep we are at 11 oclock.... not

I think we all know where we are at Snickers, but don't appreciate that idiot Lloyd trashing our club. Who can take him seriously with the crap that comes out of his mouth?

It's the start of the season, we need to at least portray some positivity right?

Who knows what we can produce. I don't really know to be honest, see we will see starting from tonight.

The media doomsayers are predicting Richmond, Essendon* and North Melbourne to be world beaters this year too.

It's all subjective.....

I do think we have the nucleus of a good side, with some holes, but our attitude is keeping us mediocre, when this changes who knows what we can achieve.

So c'mon blues, it's up to you!!

I know the feeling.

...and Lloyd can GAGF along with his cheating druggy mates at Essendon*.
They are all a disgrace, and have disgraced AFL on the world sporting stage.

Gotta win the first of the year, otherwise its going to be a long 11 days before round 2 against Tiggers who are seething after a loss against the Suns.

Surprise me Bluebaggers. #I Believe

Oh no! We've gone too tall and selected injured players.

Who will it be? Hendo? Thomas? PLease let it be Warnock.

Or it could be nothing.

MM = old dog = old tricks.

Can't wait for the bounce. This is almost as exciting as my daughter making her soccer debut last night for the Progreso U8's against Chicxulub.

She won 3-0 btw for those who are interested......

Go Blues!

Reasonable from the inheritor of Walls' mantle, Lloyd.

That's a great article. I wonder who wrote it, because on my device it actually shows up that Lloyd did. Did that happen to anyone else?

I can imagine it went like this Moshe.

Lloyd to ghost writer. "I want to write an article on how bad Carlton are and how they will struggle. Can you have it done by 5pm? Thanks"

To be fair he did re- edit the original....it went like this
Quote:
What has happened to the squad that rocketed into premiership favouritism at the completion of round three in 2012 after smashing Collingwood by 10 goals on a Friday night at the MCG? Brett Ratten was unfortunate in that some key players were struck down by injuries. They were immediately suspicious of the opposition, launched their own investigation which alerted the AFL, ACC and ultimately ASADA. Carlton's season was derailed, but the rest as they say is history.

Right on.

I'm just getting tired of the anti-Carlton brigade. Hopefully they can start eating their words

Graham and Buckley doing very well. It's good to see. It's these guys I'd like to see really pushing for a spot. If they can we will be much better.

Isn't it normal for emergencies to be held back if AFL is playing the same day as VFL? After all, you could get injuries in the warmup and depending on who gets injured may depend on which emergency you want. eg. Cripps for McLean, Lucas for Thomas, Holman for... not sure!

What a hack Lloyd is. I guess he's getting payed to write about something ...

Whilst I agree that we've not outdone the competition when it comes to the national draft, we have at our disposal some choice talent at Carlton. Any team in the comp would happily take off our hands given the opportunity.

As for the rest of his article ...

If I've said it once or a thousand times, its about form and winning culture, with a splash of luck thrown in. That's what it takes to win premierships. Geelong were too old, too slow? Too many aging stars? How did Geelong manage to recruit those young guns at just the right time to compliment that aging list? I believe they didn't. I believe those young guns entered a club with a winning culture and consistency of form that made those young recruits play with confidence and belief. Surrounded by that winning culture, they've slotted into one of the easiest gigs they'll ever get.

Look at Chris Scott's luck getting the top job at Geelong. He must have went to bed pinching himself. He even said it himself. He didn't go to Geelong to build a winning culture, he's at Geelong to maintain it.
Malthouse on the other hand has inherited a team on the rise. Make no mistake, this team is on the rise, whatever Lloyd thinks. If all goes to plan we'll start getting some consistency in our 'wins for' ratio. That's what Malthouse is there for. That's what he did at Collingwood. Once we start to get some consistency the self belief will come and we'll transform the club back to a wining culture. The likes of which we have not seen at Carlton for a very long time.
