Where is the independent review???

Ive been banging on about this for years.

it wont happen... so we will continue to be shit

The review will only be a tool to make deluded people see theyre crap!!!...

But they dont want to see it...

Couldn't agree more

The issue I have with a review is that the findings and recommendations needs to then be implemented. I am not sure that would happen.

Staggered that we brought in 2 players that haven't played in 20 weeks....one specifically to play on Alwyn Davey.

I was gutted last night but thought I might feel better this morning. Nope, wrong. Normally, when players are cut at the end of the year I am very mindful that young men that I have cheered for have had their dream dashed. Well, I dream of my club returning to the position it occupied when I was growing up. The current occupants of Royal Parade have lost sight of what it means to be part of the Carlton Football Club. The only people who continue to carry that particular torch are we sad individuals, the supporters old enough to remember a time when the name Carlton would invoke loathing as well as grudging respect in the football community. Mediocrity was never acceptable. Now we are little more than a punch line or a cautionary tale. Come the time in a week or two when careers are ended, both on and off the field, I shall be less "nostalgic". And come the time that my membership renewal lands in my letter box I may be more frugal.

Agree with you 100% I had nightmares about the game thought it was all a bad dream but woke up to reality!

No not another review. I don't want the financial planner come movie producer - Adrian Gleeson undertaking it.

Don't worry. Sticks/Swan will release Blueprint Mark II which will give us our strategy, goals and mandate moving forward.

Oh yes we also have the wonderful 150 year celebration next year. Never mind we have just wiped 20 years off- you never let the truth get in the way of a true story. Just wheel out John Nicholls, Kouta, Doull etc.

True. The only issue is who else??? Ellard, OKeefe, Bootsma, McCarthy, Laidler, Lucas?

Shows our problem. Not much quality around is there?

True. Other than Bootsma, none have played.

But to tag Davey.........

I agree. But you don't want him in the midfield or using the ball too much. I get the impression that MM is just trying to limit that damage until years end.

You can't help but like guys like Duigan & Joseph but they're not up to it.

Wouldn't it be great to forget about the review and the 150year celebration and concentrate on winning footy games, because isn't that what the CFC is all about winning games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was okay but Stanton has been poor the last month or so.

If we are getting excited about taggers we are struggling.

I noticed that one thing Buckley did was get each player to rate themselves on a whiteboard based on what was asked of them.

If Mick did the same thing I wonder how many of our players would think they were shit-hot.

This is the third game we've cocked up in the dying seconds against this mob in recent years

The drawn game in 2011 - We are a point up and Simmo kicks it OOF from FB and their shot on goal misses resulting in a draw
Round 11 2013 - We are a point up, Hendo kicks to Yarran from FB, results in turnover and goal to give them a 5 point win
Round 22 2013 - Scores are level and all we have to do is hold on for another 30 seconds yet I think McInnes stuffed up and they goal and win by 6 points

22 behinds, only 2 rushed.
Embarrassing.

The only way I can accept this is if this becomes "watershed" day and vowing this type of sh1t will never happen again. Much like Geelong in 2007 after round 5 in where they sat 2-3 after another p1ss poor loss.

Other than that I want a complete review club and changes made because this simply isn't good enough. Work ethic, attitude, culture that IS the problem in our club. We can play alright but simply don't want it badly enough and not willing to work for it.

It wont be... the players don't give a shit. They're happy if their hair doesn't need a blow wave after the game.

We ARE a mediocre side (in fact, that's a bit of an understatement)

One of the poorest games of football I've seen for a long time in terms of quality, but I'm not sure why so many are complaining about a lack of effort.

What I saw was a lack of skill, highlighted by a lack of ability to kick goals. No question we're lacking depth at the moment. When we have to bring in players such as Aaron Joseph, we clearly have a problem, especially when we think we have to tag Davey.

Bizarrely, even if we lose next week, we're likely to finish eighth after Essendon* are stripped of their points, and we will be humiliated by whichever team is given a training run against us. This can't be good in any way.

On a positive, I can't believe how courageous is Kade Simpson; his work last night was fantastic. Menzel showed he's going to be a star.

Finally, I've had enough of Gibbs. I have been waiting now for 150+ games, and I just don't think he's ever going to have the commitment to become an 'A' list player. Like Yarran, he has as much ability as any player in the competition, but equally like Yarran, he will never work hard enough to live up to his 'potential'.

This season will probably go down as the most disappointing I have experienced in terms of performance versus expectation.

On this basis, how many "watershed days" have we had and not learned from? Too many to count.
