Interesting they said to pressure him onto his wrong foot and then showed him on the left delivering a perfectly weighted pass to a teammate with it. I'll take that.

It's interesting isn't it. Armfield is one of the guy's who will run onto his wrong foot and I still maintain that often it will allow you an extra yard or two to steady and get the kick right. That example they show is not the only time he's done it.

I see a lot of players getting pinged trying to get on their preferred foot when they could make life a lot easier for themselves on the non-preferred. A lot for no reason other than they are not as confident and might lose 10% of distance.

Kade Simpson for example appears terribly left side but he seems to nail a high percentage of his right foot kicks.

Considering we got flogged by Port this week, playing Geelong, with Hawkins and others back in. Scotland out, Henderson under an injury cloud and kruezer battling:

At etihad, our worst stadium, with the same gameplan, (only suited to the G, Subiaco, that's been found out) with our players consistently played out of position. Look for Gibbs to play defensive role on Johnson and not hunt the ball himself while our shit kicks run free, Henderson down back while Bower at CHF!! Brock not played on ball, his only effective position, Judd to be swamped.

Geelong looking to rebound, plus our lengthy injury list and same old negative coaching moves.

Can't see this one being too good.

I'm expecting the text messages to start rolling in at the 5 minute mark of the first quarter.

Which is about what they used to start rolling in around during seasons 2005 to 2007.

I think it has more to do with Tony De Bolfo only working two days a week.

what a great read, maybe I should visit the website more often

The last straw that I am clutching to revive this season is the next 5 games are friday and thursday night games
we are undefeated this year on a friday or thursday night winning 4 from 4

Lets pray and hope the thursday / friday night winning tradition continues

and for the tippers - Hawks have lost 4 of their last 5 against Port at AAMi and 11 of their last 14 over there
Could be another upset on the cards

Good to see that come through. The Blueseum noticed that one coming up and sent it on to to the Club, and Tony has delivered a great story there on one of Carlton's more tragic stories.

That's all I can comment on. I can't talk about last week's effort.

cheers Doc

I value Armfield's ability as well as jis pace. Maybe it's his pace which gives him some of his ability

Doesn't surprise me that the opposition views Army as a Carlton weapon, whilst a lot of Carlton supporters see him as a fella with a non AFL background and peripheral.

I love what Army brings to our game: hard contested finals footy every game.
Keep leading the way Army.

What a !@#$%& disappointment Russell has turned out to be.

I have been a fan and gave him the benefit of the doubt.
I thought last year was probelmatic bc of the hip surgery and gave him the benefit of the doubt.
The confidence stuff....well imo it sounds more like depression and I hope it isn't, but he's not right between the ears imo.

The !@#$%& is in our leadership group.

If confidence is his issue...well I can't tolerate his inability to get up week in week out.

Really disappointed in him.
If he can't get himself up just from hunger to play, just when we need him ....he's as good as GAWN!!

How can you, on the one hand, speculate that he might be suffering from depression; and on the other, call him a flower and say you're really disappointed in him.

I don't know if he's depressed or not, but if he is, then cut him some slack, and thank god that it's not one of your children.

You're better than that, BB.

Well Mosche, all we hear from our off field leaders is that he is out of form and lost his confidence. That's the story of his time at Carlton. I'm disappointed in him if that's the case because he chose to be a professional footballer and no one held a gun to his head to become one. He's had the opportunity to succeed, and other than 2010 he's done nothing...he can't get a look in because he's lost confidence? bwah bwah. He's not made of the right stuff. Period.

What's he doing in the leadership if he's got confidence issues? He's no good to us even when he's fit, let alone lead us.

Now this confidence thingy has been going on for the last 2 years, and prior to 2010. It has gone on for too long to be just confidence imo, so I suggest it may be depression, and hope it isn't; that's what I said. That's my take on it. I don't know where you get the idea that I suggest he's a [REDACTED] because he may have depression. I suggest if he's got confidence issues and its between his ears, and if that's the case at this stage if his career then he's GAWN.

Yes I'm just speculating, because this 'confidence' issue has gone on for too long.
If it is depression, and please take note, it is just a suggestion I made because of the ongoing confidence issues, then the club is saying nothing of the sort, and I would expect the club to know of it and he should be receiving treatment.

Depression is treatable mosche not the end of the world, and if he's got it, then it's the clubs responsibility to look after that. As I said earlier, I hope it isn't. I'm sure it isn't. I'm depressed with his performance. Capiche?

Woulda liked to see Lucas get a run, at the expense of Joseph or Collins in that order. AJ must be given a very hard tag role only - and hopefully, with a huge rocket he got during the week (?) can perform that role like he did a couple of years ago.

Looks allright.
Not surprised with ommissions, just surprised Collins survived the cut.
I hope thay are all swithced on...all of them.
No excuses...this is do or die.
Lose and we're out of the 8.
Lose and those responsible for the loss can kiss my ass, along with the MC.

That Lucas can't get in is a real concern.

Stoked to see Watson keep his spot! Long term far better option than Bower.
Also glad to see Collins kept in, he needs an extended run to show his worth, but is hard as a cats head and creative.

Personally would of had Lucas for Joseph but thats probably the best we can do.

For me its all about effort tomorrow night. I don't care about tactics, positions etc.

Over the past 4-5 weeks we have been weak and lazy. If we are serious about last week not being good enough we have to show 4 quarters of full on effort. Anything less and the season is probably over.

McInnes as an emergency is interesting! No Dale or Buckley

When I was a kid if your team didn't have enough players sometimes the opposition team would lend you some of theirs.

Maybe we should injure more of our players.?

Theyre crapping their dacks. We can bowl them over .. just hope there are no late changes. plenty of deep marking options in our forward line that was missing last week..midfield is still weak would love to see Tuohy line up where he is listed. Could be a gun move and use his aggression around the ball a little more.
