Yay team!

Reckon Crameri is the key. As Ratts pointed out, they're taking plenty of marks inside 50 so far this year, he's responsible for most of them.

Jamo or Hendo need to shut him down.

The good thing is that we are scoring a lot of goals from close in so the misses are fewer. Easy misses by Eddie, Kreuzer and Garlett notwithstanding (two posters frome very close plus one brain fade).

Round 4 last year

Carlton: ........0.2....4.9....6.13....11.13
Essendon*: .....3.2....6.3....7.8....11.13

Making our chances count is CRUCIAL, especially early in the game.
You don't give a sucker an even break and if we give them a sniff through poor ball use or kicking for goal we could get pantsed...

crameri is 186cm, Tuohy 187cm. I reckon Tuohy is in good form, strong enough body to play on him, but I'm not sure how he goes in a contested mark situation....?

Don't think Zac is the option for Crameri. Crameri would outpoint him in aerial contests easily, and to my eye looks a hell of a lot thicker through the trunk. I think Zac would get a touch up one on one.

I think Laidler could be an option. Clearly has the height advantage and is pretty close to our best one on one defender in marking contests.

Essendon* do have players that can do damage if they get the right match up for them. as someone else mentioned... Jetta is slippery and in great form, Hurley is capable as is Crameri.

Key for mine will be nullifying Ryder's influence. If we get a break even there, our midfield will handle theirs easily. Weight of numbers re: forward entires would do the rest.

Laidler for mine. Crameri plays as a marking forward.

Laidler is definitely the right matchup for Crameri.
Hendo for Hurley and Jamo on the resting ruckman.

I'd swap Hendo and Jamo around there. Hurley seems to be able to get away from Hendo on the turn. Jamo goes better on him.

Geez we let them have a lot of scoring shots in the last quarter!

I remember after Round 4 last year and all the talk about the Bummers being two men down. My old man went "they should be noting that Carlton were 3 men down as Hampson, Henderson and Collins all went missing!"

Truth be known we're a far better team than any of the teams we ahd against Essendon* last year. From nothing else but the Jamo-SOV-Kreuze factor.

Thats very true. Those 3 were terrible that day. Things have certainly changed for 2 of them though.

Just win.

Don't care how it's done.

Don't by how much. To tell the truth, crap teams, especially ones which know they're outgunned, will drag better teams down to their level and make these matches look much closer than they should be. Best example would be Essendon* being beaten by the Bulldogs in 2000, IMO. We've done it in the past, I expect we'll cop it a bit this year. This match will probably be the same.

Just. Win.
