If we keep signing all our guns, the AFL will come sniffing - Melbourne Storm style.

Great to get it out of the way

The player managers must be loving the threat of the expansion teams.

The thing I hate about the situation is that some players we would like to keep are going to be squeezed out over the next few years because we are having to pay so much to the top end and not just those GWS and GC pick up either IMO.

Major inflation problem.

Good signing but I still think he will finish his career in SA and as long as he contributes to a blues flag I dont care what he does after that

Something that caught my attention was he said he was hoping to increase his out put

Does that me he was coasting for most of this year

He has no interest in coming back to Radelaide.

His old man moved from Perth to Adelaide to play footy and is well versed on the tribulations of moving states. I'm sure he's given Gibblett some sound advice.

And besides the days of ex SA boys wanting to move back are getting fewer & fewer....

Not many guys between 18-30 would want to live in Adelaide over Melbourne.
That's the reality of it.
The longer Bryce is in Melbourne the more likely he is to stay for good, even though I already think he is here for good.
Besides, where would he go? Port? No..
It would have to be Adelaide but they are in shambles. Veterans retiring and the word is every young gun they have wants to leave..

Most of those others were recruited before the power or the crows existed and none were the son of a SA legend
make no mistake if he could have gone FS he would have

And if Goddard could have gone to carlton he would have.

irrelevant. Gibbs is blue as blue can be.

I think he's an avatar.

gibbs would be lucky to be in our top 10 in the B and F.

Forget about 'captain material' and 'leading us to a premiership'... He needs to prove that he is worth his money and better than the likes of AJ and armfield, would would be polling similar votes but would be on about a third as much dough.

Prove that he's better than AJ and Armfield?

He's had a slow start but that's only by the standards we judge him by.

1. Last year he was great, 3rd BnF, top 10 Brownlow, give him a bit more time this year.
2. It's obvious he has been asked to play certain roles defensively, ie Franklin, Motlop etc, he's sacrificing a stat accumulating game and still learning these roles
3. Although he hasn't been getting massive stats when he does get the ball he uses it extremely well and is one of our most creative players.
4. Has only just turned 21 FFS. Don't forget he was a bottom aged draft pick. Honestly the fact that he came top 10 brownlow last year as a 19/20 year old is astounding
5. After all the talk of him having a quiet year he is still averaging over 24 touches a game, and I don't see him waste many.

So please, get off his back. He has been great for us at such a young age and you should be happy he has signed and will be running around in Navy Blue for thext 2 years and hopefully much longer.
