He is not off the chain yet - for me.

Buck stops with him how we started the season. Him and the coaching staff. We looked unhappy on the field and hesistant. What have we been doing the whole pre-season. ? And the rot started in the second half of last year.

So a few wins against low teams hasnt changed things. It has released the valve somewhat, but we have a few tough games coming up. This is the real test.

We have clearly changed the way we play in the last few weeks. We are taking the game on more and attacking more offensively.

Not how we started.

Jury is still out and he is not off the hook.

I agree to some extent.

I think the reality is that if it was better late than never, our game plan and execution against both the Weagles and North were much. much better than the games prior.

The clear point is as you rightly note, those two wins were against "lower" teams".

Thats fair, and I think its also fair to see how much those incremental improvements albeit against lower teams helps us to combat a far stronger opponent in Geelong.

At the very least you would expect those improvements should at least arm the team and coaches with a better confidence and belief that maybe got shot a bit before those wins.

Reality - the season "comeback" and/or "reset" starts this week and our results over the next few games after that should provide a better picture of where we are at.

Because the last two weeks mean sweet FA in the grand scheme of things as far as I'm concerned, and the fact of the matter is we have won 4/15 with two wins against Norf and WCE, a shocking finish to 2024 and shocking start to 2025 including the most embarrassing loss in history to Richmond.

We will see in 5 weeks time where he sits but for me, nothing has changed.

Cool, we’re on the same page. I just wasn’t sure what your comment meant.

yeah des, that's it in a nutshell.

often the changes - and the resulting success from said changes - are forced due to injury, and not proactively executed by dynamic coaches ready to take the game on.

Rapt for this bloke. As much as I’d written him off, I really really really want him to succeed and take us to #17. Still a long way to go to get our season back on track but the flame hasn’t gone out just yet. He’s faced a huge amount of pressure this year, hope he enjoys a bit of relief

Credit when it's due... he out coached Scott today

the first time he's really pulled some levers in the box, for mine. and it was a godsend.

right after HT they were coming for us. Scott challenged their midfield and they were smashing us in every 1-on-1 on the ground with 195 pressure rating. so voss slows it all down, we take the heat off the ball and dink it around for 3-4 minutes and get our breath back and start playing when the heat died down

i did think we went into our shells and slow played way too early in the 4th. they were playing fast and hard. but we held, and voss probably put in the best coaching performance so far.

long may that continue

A blanket over Geelong defensively. Have to give credit where it's due.

I’m glad Vossy stuck to the same game plan and tactics he trained throughout the preseason and didn’t read take on the recommendations made in this article.

A lot of made up stuff in here

Motlop and Williams were training with the midfield group and attending some CBS in the season proper.

Only thing to change for us is Charlie and Harry playing their first 4 quarters this year, our kicking to goal has straightened up and the small forwards have improved since the addition ogvDurdin. He seems to have lifted the spirit of all the players.

The type of players on our list were drafted and traded for a contested brand of footy. A brand that stands up in Finals. Injury has been our enemy, and we haven’t been far off winning this year.

No team has scored more than 12 goals against us this year, but no one wants to recognise that fact. I thought all good teams were built from defense.

Vossys game plan suits the list. It’s other teams who have had to adapt the res to go into battle with the Blies.

Good to see us win 3 in a row. But pressure is still on Voss and the team to make Finals and give them a nudge.

The last sentence is what they’re judged on.

I’ve seen enough false dawns over the last 23 years to remain sceptical until they’re playing on the last Saturday of the year.

We have the team to make finals if they stay fit. From there injuries and luck play their part.

The last sentence? Nah, the Blues did the opposite to that last sentence, by continuing to play "ourway" and beat a fancied flag favourite.

Gosh Des, if all you watch footy is for the last day of September, given the scars you have carried since 1995, I can see why you don't get up for a win.

For me its simple. Its entertainment with a touch of religion. Carlton playing well any game is nourishment for its fans. They do us and do us proud on that ONE effort. One week at a time. Flags are too hard for anyone to predict during the Finals series, let alone from round 2.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy a few wins along the way, playing our way. The signs are good.

Of course I enjoyed yesterday’s outcome, but it’s still April, and it’s only one game.

We’ve been rebuilding (this time) for 10 years now? At some point you need to deliver.

I might not last another rebuild.

Might go back and read the last few pages, but just checking if we've unsakced Voss yet, or is he still on the nose?!
