So; obviously nobody knows the current SOS and CFC story?

Why do you say that? I think most people know the current SOS CFC story.

Why cant posters be civil and adult; and just answer an innocent question if they know the answer?....why the sarcasm?.

If the Silvagni/Bradley/Fraser Brown salary cap incident is to do with his disassociation with the Club; then; so be it....or is it something else?

I was just interested; that's all....I haven't been able to go to the football for the last few years; and I desperately miss going; and also miss going to training, which I loved.

I used to be able to ring Chris Pavlou for news until he passed away.

So....I'm left with this site for current information; and just wondered why SOS is List Manager (and successful) at GWS; when he's a legend of the CFC......that's all....

I do/did mean recent and now....I just wanted to know if there's been a ''recent'' falling out between SOS and Carlton.....or does it go back to the time I mentioned.

I suppose I'm wondering if he'll ever be list manager at Carlton; that's all.

..even with that falling out post sal.cap, wifey Jo still used to host the women of carlton nights for a few years after he left, i still think she was doing it when he had that gig at the saints didn't she?, not sure if all bridges were burned and 'no-return' type emotions were involved that she would have wanted to stay involved/loyal to/with us.. ..but there's probably a few names that he'd not wanna be working/around still involved here..

Once again years of List Management mismanagement has been exposed.

Too many average players given too many chances.

We lack poise, mental strength and leadership and its been the same for years.

Time for real cuts and recruit talented kids. Midfielders!

Priorities need to be good skills and hunger for the contest.

I said during the game it isn't so much hunger, it's lack of talent.

We over estimated ourselves and now see we just aren't good enough.

There is still players to work with but it's going to take some really good recruiting to get us out of our current mess.

Can't believe i'm going to say this but.........I'm starting to warm to the idea of going after Dale Thomas!

(I just spewed in my mouth a little)

Here's why.

We are at major risk of being overtaken by the likes of Gold Coast, North Melbourne and even the Western Bulldogs in the next few years. Maybe as early as next year.

Get Dale thomas.
Trade Gibbs, Yazz and Lucas for either quality players or picks in the top 5.

Sorry Ryan, but a short term solution to a long term problem.

First thing is to sort out Football Department and Recruiting. Both are responsible for this mess.

Hughes & Rogers need to go. Neither is rated within the industry and wouldn't get a job anywhere else. WTF happpened to "The Best" attitude we were working on?

Luke Williams need to take over and show why we chased him.

Secondly, appoint a List Manager. I believe we are on the right track with regards to development now but we are coming off an extremely low base. The appointments of guys like a Tudor, Neeld, Voss or Ling will help.

Then clean out the crap. Go read Talking Players (I am as bad as anyone) and the comments and discussion about a player did this and that etc so keep them. FFS if they can't contribute consistently to a level that is required say goodbye.

Why does Rowe get an extension before years end?

We need to make "Tough Decisions" and turnover our list. Unfortunately we have not done that for years and are now paying the price.

How players like Davies, Joseph, Collins, Hampson, Warnock, Duigan, Buckley, Dale keep getting contracts?

Why do we recruit Cachia, Curnow, Carter, Twomey, Johnson, Heyne etc? Handy, maybe but how do they improve our list???

Our best players now were essentially flukes. Guys like Henderson, McLean, Simpson & Tuohy in some ways we were bloody lucky.

We are hanging our hats on guys like Graham & Menzel. Talented, yes but 2-3 years off making a significant impact at AFL Level. Where are these guys from 2-3 years ago that should be stepping up??

We need to go back to basics, have a major cleanout and be turning over 5-6 players a year from now on. Should of happened last year when it was a deep draft. This year isn't looking as good. Typical.

This is AFL football, the elite, it's a tough business, players either stand up or their out.

Melbourne the powerhouse was going to sign Rogers so we were lucky to have him slip to us and snatched him before Melbourne....

We need everyone to go.... everybody!!!

Ive mentioned the four/ five pillars of faith in some of the great religions

In footy terms the 4 pillars are President CEO coach and footy manager.. but there is also a fifth... recruiter.
You dont have all of these things right... there can be no salvation

Give it a rest. Whether you like MM or not he was appointed last year and has coached this year with someone else's list.

I don't care whether its MM, Ratten, Roos or whoever. He has been appointed and deserves the opportunity as anyone else. Judge him after that.

Given he is the last appointed I would believe that others within the club deserve to have there positions within the club examined well before MM.

MM's first four years at Collingwood resulted in 7, 11, 15 & 17 wins.

It takes time and he knows how to build a top level side.

Welcome to Mediocrity FC

Should've been sacked... someone needs to staple their 'success rate list' to the foreheads of very board member... may run out of staples though

I only pray that MM has given them clear instructions on what type of players he wants... maybe they can redeem themselves... maybe not

That's it in a nutshell.

MEDIOCRITY. Mediocre coaching, mediocre recruiting, mediocre development, mediocre management over the last decade or more.

...and mediocre club leadership at the board and president level...so many things need to change and the sad thing is that the playing list is probably not even the most important one.
