It’s like this to me
I never been on a footy board
In the work place I have been on committees and sat and chaired meetings

So in 38 years I have seen heaps of leadership good and bad
Cazzeman’s points are relevant and valid but what he clearly doesn’t understand is that you have to be human.
You have to do with care and understanding
You also have to be tough and make hard decisions
A lot of Hardwicks and Goodwin’s positions being retained was about gut feel
Perception
You can do all the reviews you like
And have as much paper work to look over
But
There are some things that you can’t learn reading a manual
The really good leaders in my time had that extra human factor. There instinctive
And they are a rarity

And consequently the place normally ran like clockwork and everything flowed

Whether Cazzeman likes it or not women are better at that stuff

That's interesting and has validity to a degree.

But I think yourself and other Carlton supporters who are questioning Sayers need to remember this:
1. It is highly unlikely to get the perfect board and it is extremely unlikely to get it with the first real change.
2. The way I look at Sayers is that he is process driven and likes to use data to make informed non emotional decisions and while that is not perfect and doesn't include "gut feel", it is the first real step we've made in a long time to get to where we want to be.
3. Teague's appointment was an emotional decision and look how that turned out. You can't blame drafting, assistants etc when he had access to change them in his short time. But you can assess that in that time, his and the teams performances were getting worse.

Not giving Sayers a chance to lead and implement some of his changes that he has either observed or been unable to make as a board member is a step backwards rather than forwards.
He not only has insight into previous practices but he also has experience to move us forward.

My view is he hasn't done anything bad a president as far as I can see and he needs time to prove he can lead us on all levels. But he needed to start somewhere and processes are the first port of call. And if he gets us that little bit closer to being back to where we should be and then if we need to change presidents in the future, I'm ok with that. First steps.

Gainful employment and he's a glass half full kind of guy.

and from Wiki.......Appointed as CEO of the Geelong Football Club in 1999, Cook has overseen a complete overhaul of the once-struggling club's finances

He obviously likes a challenge and they won't come much bigger than The Blues..............unless he went to the Gold Coast.

Sayers doing more than anyone at board level in a long time !!

Actually gives a shit ... I Think he has clearly been frustrated as a board member and waiting to have the votes to become president and then implementing his vision immediately!!

Love it , no bs . And doesn’t tolerate fools

So far given the last nine years it’s a good move dont you think

You shouldn’t have to be member if you think it’s a lost cause

I would do even if I could only go to one game as I live in Busselton , Western Australia

But since Malthouses appointment I think I haven’t bothered for the reasons I have outlined
I’ll sign up if this takeover is a better option IMO

I know Sayers has a child with a disability. Good on him for supporting the cause.

Doesn’t mean he is like that when he parks the car at Prinnie Park he is that sort of guy

And there have been many famous people who won awards who ended up with a few skeletons in the ol closet exposed.
Rolf Harris clearly had an extra problem with an
extra leg.
Don’t take that the wrong way . Just highlighting the captain obvious
What I’m getting at and again it’s down to a life of experience
People can be very different on the home front compared to the work place
If you didn’t know that you need to get out more

Incidentally Cazzeman I know your a music fan
I play in a duet over here

Oh yeah she is a female
I wanted to have a female singer not because they might be easy on the eye ( that is a bonus) but for all the reasons I mentioned including one I forgot to mention
Less ego
And we go alright
Don’t expect you to “ like” us

So reading this I could get

spat the dummy in 2012
I make assumptions that suit my argument
then I throw dirt to confirm my assumptions

I hire a female cos I am a great guy
and she looks good
and she doesn't want much of a say in how things run.

I could, but I have this habit of not taking things at face value and not going with gut instinct. Both lead to weird thoughts like the earth is flat.

I picked up that Keogh thinks List Mgt is not an issue...there was no mention of it...thank god for that!!!

Oh...and that Rolf Harris would leave Joel Garner and Chris Gayle in his wake

It was also mentioned that he'll be working well into his 70s to recoup money from 4 failed marriages...maybe that's the secret to being successful in your job

Joel Garner in a pub in Melbourne was asked by an interested female if given his height, long arms and legs whether everything else was in proportion
Joel’s reply
“ If it were mamm I’d be ten feet tall”

Yeah Yeah
Like Cazzeman
We agree to disagree on things mate

Anyway interesting 6 or so weeks ahead at Blueland

Who needs survivor when you have The Blues

this just highlights my point - notice I said I could get - meaning its not the truth, its just a 'gut feel" from reading what you said - next step would be to check the facts against that gut feel and if I can check the facts just wait until evidence presents itself so i can check the facts - the best illustration of this I think is Lindy Chamberlain. The "gut feel" was that a dingo would not take her baby. Gut feels are worthless unless backed with logic etc.

And good to see we aren't reacting to the media noise. We're already a rabble. Who cares if they continue to call us that. Do what we need to do, not what the baying pack wants.

Did Sayers really need to launch a mid season review just to change the senior coach at the end of the year?

How did Lloyd survive? The Head of Football overseeing the train wreck comes out okay?

Not convinced Sayers has this under control at all.

What senior coach would want to report to Lloyd under Liddle and Sayers?

Lloyd was the dud list manager at Freo and Lyon didnt even speak to him, didnt rate him, did Sayers think Lyon would report to Lloyd? Laughable.

How can we appoint a new coach if those the new coach supposedly will report to are not safe. No wonder Ross Lyon pulled out.
