So nice that Syd is now using non-binary grammar.

Syd we have been crap ever since you & I met up at qtr time of the GWS game. The universe got completely misaligned in that moment

Which also just happened to coincide with the moment I turned to my wife and said with conviction: "We are finally a great team - we are going all the way this year!".

The A-Team!!

Now that I think of it, I am pretty sure it was around that time that the project started to turn to shit. We were the Cripps and Weiters trying to hold it all together, but our bottom 6 just weren't good enough...

So Micheal, did you know Charlie spent 58% of his time last Thursday night in the defensive half of the ground?

Micheal " That's a good stat, I wasn't aware of that"

Literally just watched the presser. Thought the exact same thing. WTF?

It was actually a good question for once. The journo should have followed up with ‘how could you not know that?’

OR, Vossy could have said, it didnt show on Charlies heat map, proving he wasn't on heat when in the forwardline because of the delivery, and went back to the oppo side of centre to show the rest how to deliver the ball into F50

I'm not slightly surprised he didn't know it. I've never heard a more meaningless stat in all my life. (And I'm a fan of football data)
Apart from the fact I think it's total bullshit, Charlie's positioning is symptomatic of how we're playing the game. If the Hawks had the ball locked in their front half and we're struggling to get it out (which we did), that's the structure and information that is relevant.

The key forwards role is to get up the ground and provide an outlet target from defence. The fact that Charlie was underdone and would have struggled to transition back into the front half (and the fact Harry was out and he had to do all the heavy lifting) means he spent more time up the ground than usual.

Our time in defensive half data, rebound 50 data and disposal efficiency out of defence (and Charlies GPS data, repeat sprints etc) would be far more relevant. Just a journo trying to make a name for himself IMHO.

No one needs stats to tell the coach our f50 is often barren when we're streaming forward... and we still bomb

How many times do we get shut out in a qtr or a half after a strong start.

So consistently outcoached. I don’t really care for the commentary around us changing coaches too regularly. If they’re not up to it, we keep going until we find someone who can coach this basket case of a club
