I'm disappointed the odds aren't better.

I think tonight might be the night it all clicks like the Essendon* game the end of last year.

..will smash them in the middle.. ..we're a very strong clearance team, we rack up good hitout numbers.. ..we're strong in depriving opposition rucks from getting big hitout numbers, and we're good in not tapping the ball to the opposition.. ..inside the stoppage is a big strength for us.. ..conversely, pois are crap this year in regards to those numbers..

..if we play smart, they've got no-one to match-up on Waite.. ..Reid won't keep up first game back.. ..also need to hit-up Krooz when he pushes fwd.. ..you seem him a lot charge into a dangerous position, but mids would rather kick to Waite leading into the pocket.. ..we play the MM boundary game well, up until the F50 entry, where we don't square up smartly..

No Wellingham at the Pies means Simpson, Murphy and Betts have nothing to worry about.

Bell on the other hand, Wellingham must have been waiting for him in the car park!

T'was suggested on 360 last night that Reid could go forward...which means we send Hendo forward first. Jamo on Cloke, McInnes on whoever.

Perhaps just my nervous nellie disorder but I can see us finding a way to lose this.

Desperately want to win. Losing breaks my heart and ruins my whole weekend. Be nice to actually win on a Friday night.

This is literally our full strength and best 22 isn't it??
I can't remember the last time we had our full team in! If we can't beat a pies team with half their list out its not just time to give up on the season, it's time to give up on this list we have (almost have, mini rebuild needed)

Looking forward to tonight and very confident.

I'd like to see:

B: Simpson Jamison Tuohy
HB: Walker McInnes Yarran

C: Lucas Carrazzo Gibbs
Foll: Kruezer Judd Murphy

HF: Garlett Henderson Armfield
F: Betts Waite Casboult

Int: Cachia Curnow McLean (Robinson)

Given Collingwood's forward line Hendo can play forward. He and Waite together will cause major issues for Pie defence. 3 tall forwards works on the MCG. Casboult then becomes a third option and that may make it better for him.
I'd use ONE tagger. Curnow on Pendlebury, he's their most damaging.
Let the rest play as ball winning mids. I'd back them in against this lot. Carrots & Murphy make a massive difference to our ball winning ability. Allows for better ball inside 50.
The advantage is that we run deeper in the midfield rotations and that has been an issue. In most games we have led and then fallen away. I believe this has been a combination of depth and too many players playing a defensive role.
Jamo on Cloke. McInnes on Witt. Supported by Simpson, Yarran, Walker and Tuohy we can have some offensive run from defence. Gibbs and Lucas to work back and assist.
Betts & Garlett need to be a defensive pressure. The goals will come from that.
Robbo as sub. Can add to midfield and energy when we need it.

Work hard as a group with great run and spread, lots of options and improved depth. I see lots of goals.

Waite, Garlett, Betts 4 each.

Blues by 54 points!

Butterflies have set in.

Always look forward, albeit nervously, to a clash with the arch enemy. Hate them, but have begrudging respect. As opposed to Bummers...just generally hate and despise them.

McInnes giving away 17cms and 27 kgs against Witts - don't think that match up is on the cards.

..depends who you ask.. ..don't think we have an established and settled 'best 22'.. ..snotland isn't playing.. ..some would rather knockers was in, or laidler.. ..not long before menzel becomes part of our best team..

..in regards to the team selected for tonight.. ..Murphy back after fractured cheekbone [is it early?], Carrots back in, only 1 week's run in the ressies, has been out since round 5 from memory.. ..McInnes comeback game off of an acl, and not a long time in ressies either..

..it's possibly one of our better line-ups, but not everyone is 100%..

If we can hold Shaw accountable off half back, their run and carry out of defence is gone with O Brien not there.
We need the conditions to remain relatively dry, and use of speed to our advantage.
Two more things that need to go right for us to be a chance.
- improved delivery inside 50
- improved conversion with shots at goal

Why not? Is it because McInnes is better one on one and can expose Witts defensively?

That's the thing.

McInnes in the U18's just wasn't beaten...not flashy, but never beaten.
He's a great one on one player. Got into the seniors and did the same.

I'm only 178 and I use to love playing against the KP's who weren't monsters like Kekovich types... but much bigger than me....and its all to do with smarts, positioning and then getting the ball when it hits the deck.

McInnes is much much taller than 178 and should be able to compete against a novice.

Is he really 27Kgs heavier...doesn't sound right.
