But then I read things like this

and it's hard to imagine that Kane has the commitment or attitude to get the best out of himself. We all hate opposition players that carry on like this, but especially when they've achieved SFA to justify that attitude (Milne's a little turd, but you can't argue that he doesn't have the runs on the board). Kane obviously thinks he's better than he is, and needs a swift kick up the backside.

Agree, i was worried all week as our record against them for the last decade has been terrible.
There are some clubs we just dont play well against. Going to be an interesting few weeks coming up with 3 winnable games against Port, Lions and GWS before games against the drug cheats, Hawks and Swans. Cant bear to think about those last 2 weeks.

Monday night's I usually enjoy..because Monday is over. Last night was rubbish way to end a Monday.

We are a joke of a footy club. Once again losing to a side we SHOULD have beaten. Got to the stage that the AINTS now pencil us in for two wins a year. Mentally fragile!! Finally showed some aggression and nearly pinched it. What was going on for the first three quarters? Good sides cover injuries and we are not a good side. When was the last time we won 4 or 5 in a row? 2001 maybe.
Selection table disasters: playing Yarran, three ruckmen.
Granting Kane Lucas and Shaun Hampson a game each week. Lucas seriously scared footballer. Hampson basically no idea.
Waite you are peanut and should have been suspended for another week by the club for being a tool.
A lot of players need to take a good hard look at themselves.

Did anyone see John Murphy go off at a few of the board members at half time?

Only heard about it afterwards, but from what I understand, wasn't happy with his son being played whilst carrying an injury for a few weeks.

Cantrunbothwaysitis is a cruel disease that seemingly is contagious with a navy blue jumper being worn.

I agree completely with Sherrin. He's embarrassing. A pretender. Wanted him gone to Melbourne last year as I felt it would be advantageous to us from a trading position. Now I just want to see the back of him.

Sat right behind the Carlton benches again this week and my thoughts...

- The entire team played horribly for three quarters. Not one or two characters but the entire group.
- Losing two immediately killed the rotation system and you could see it on the players on the bench and those coming off. Confusion reigned. At one point Armfield took himself off the ground spent, huffing and puffing, and nobody was ready to come back on. After a few seconds of people pointing around Murphy sprung up off the bench and ran back on. No doubt why Malthouse himself came down with 10 minutes still to play in the 2nd quarter... it was a shambles down there.
- Agree with all re: 3 ruckman won't work. For me it's Hampson who goes for Waite. He goes okay late in games as evidenced that last two weeks, and you can argue a case for him to stay and Kreuzer to go, but Kreuzer at least has a defensive edge to his game (and was clearly not ready to play). Hampson flaps around for much of the game.
- Lucas his worst game for the year. You can say that about a lot of players, though... Murphy, Walker, Robinson, Betts... A dirty night for the entire team.
- Kicking it to McEvoy all night was ridiculous. You'd think after the fourth time they'd learn. Nope. Just stupid football.
- It's been the achilles heel all year. Tackling. We don't do it properly.
- Warnock probably gets BOG. One of the few (Henderson, Jamison, Garlett, Judd, Scotland) who can put their hand up.
- Cachia should stay in the team.
- This game was almost lost before the bounce. Yarran should not have played (Hammy twinge? Take at least a week off, son). 3 rucks (Casboult should have come in).

It just had to be another dirty Monday night game against those dirty Saints.

I'm all but prepared to concede that Carlton has no place in finals this year.

I only hope that Malthouse learns what will never work (but really he should know better).

Surely we must bounce back against Port Adelaide.

In from Waite, Gibbs, Carazzo (what was the result of his scans?), Bell...

You'd think Ellard could be finished at AFL level. His body just won't stand up to it to give him a decent go. Sad to think about.

I think you can throw in Andy Walker , Dennis Armfield, Jeffy and to a lesser extent Jammo.
Not much else to be positive about to date. Our Leadership should be made up from those 5 or 6 names.
