Thankyou Mark Maclure.
:thanks:

Mark Maclure speaks as he played.....no stuffing around, and do the job right now as it has to be done.

Love him on that program as I loved him as a player.

We will do it old school way, well it does not work this way anymore. Recommends McKay for CEO role 2 weeks ago . Recommends we re sign mm 4 weeks ago.I like McClure but he is a perfect example what is wrong with this club , living in the past not embracing the future. Jobs for the boys.

Trigger,
Don't you think it's ok to think MM is the man to coach ,whilst still admitting to his glaring flaws?
It's weird how you joined up around the time MM joined CFC.
am I saying you might be wearing malty colored glasses?
yes, I think I am.
i just think it's pointless trying to dissuade those of us who clearly don't like the way the man conducts himself.
I am one who thinks he should probably see his contract out.
I am also dead against re signing him as I think he is an extremely poor role model for the boys, and a very poor spokesman for our club.

Right o, i am christy, that should make you feel better.
Lets get Ratten back, that would make you happy no doubt.
He is a poor role model for the players now is he, so you must know the inner workings of the club very well then.
He is trying to fix the shambles which is our footy dept, set up by Ratten and Sticks and he is not going anywhere soon.

cheers

christy

Hopefully he is at the end of his contract.
no eyed dear. (hi dane! xx)

oh, and btw, it's obvious no one in his family tells him to pull his head in , or he would have improved his manners long ago.

Winning is a brand ambassador.
I don't want Mark Robson running my club.
I don't want a nice person coaching my club.
Mick Malthouse was handed the greatest *-*- sandwich with this list
It is going to take 4 seasons to build the list (2 more drafts minimum)
Mick was churlish with Ling. I had no problems with the response to Sam Lane who asked a stupid, leading question regarding players on the outer
Mark Mclure I respect you but you did us no favours. Mick might be rude but focussing on his match day coaching is a bit over the top. At the moment he is a development coach who has to get us into a position to compete again. Buckley, Menzel, Rowe, White, Johnson says he can do it. Match day coaching will make minimal difference with our talent base. He needs better assistants but wasn't he refused by Ling and a few younger options?
All the cut away from press conferences were from MM's Collingwood stint. Somehow, there is an element of payback from the media.
They would love to throw us into turmoil. The board should stand up for the club and the coach

The worst thing the club could do is let frustrated supporters start choosing coaches.

Well, it's worked. MM has decided he should improve his manner.
Good work everyone.

If Ling is piling on after the Sam Lane sook then he can GAGF. The boundary rider has to cop it if the coach wants him to @#$%&! off at half time. It's a tense business and Ring has no rights in the change rooms.

Ling does coach at North Melbourne as well...who we play this Friday night.
Perhaps it was a get out, you don't need to be hearing our address before we play you. Off you go, Lingy, please - and while you're at it, take that f*k'd up Channel 7 crew with you. Begin rant.

And if the suggestion by Robbo(was it?) that Mark Thompson is available wasn't an agenda, then what is one?
Carlton don't need to Essendon*'s media proxies running our club

I didn't realise that Ling is a part timer at North.
Which coach in the league would welcome an assistant from an upcoming opponent wandering in to the rooms at half-time?

I think we're all missing the point here, the real coaches story at the moment is Mark Thompson discovering the cure for cancer and his upcoming Nobel Prize.

Rubbish.
Better to admit to being an absolute tool, and try to do better.

The myth continues.

The reality is that our list was worse or at least as bad ... but played a lot better before Dr Strangelove. Basically ... we are stuffed and will continue to pay a price until the club stops believing the hype about the super duper coach who has been very very ordinary.

In fairness if you don't understand the effect the "faces" of a club have on brand, culture and as a result it's revenue then there really is no point to discussing further.

Who said I didn't understand it? Don't play the dismissive card whilst talking about 'discussion points' in the same post.

What impact has the behaviour of other coaches such as Collingwood (when MM was there), Hawthorn, North Melbourne and Richmond to name several had on their brand, culture, membership and as a result their revenue? I don't think we need to outline the incidents again.

In fairness if you think this is some unique phenomenon at Carlton where the "faces" have some profoundly different effect on brand, culture and revenue than any other club with similar parameters, you can state that and avoid the 'discussion point.'

Whether people think MM is a good coach or not is clearly a personal opinion & will be assessed ultimately based on our on field success.

What can't be questioned is his leadership & positive influence on young people - he protects his players & they enjoy him.

MM is a positive role model to young people both within & outside of football. Speak to anyone involved in the Bridge project to see his positive influence on at risk young people - the public perception of him & private reality are at odds.

Some players play for him ... some don't.
