Hey Rhino. I would have concentrated on getting up the draft order not pushing picks lower. I would have used the first this year and next to turn them into higher picks this year and more seconds/thirds next year. Gold coast and Melbourne managed this very well. They targeted Gold Coasts 4th - i wish we had done that ourselves. And Gold coasts early teen picks too knowing they want heaps of points for this year and the next.

I would not have downgraded our first to north and just insisted on the second round - after all Fisher was contracted.

I would insist on a 3rd for Dow - We will see how that turns out.

I would have been in the hunt for Schultz and Henry. Small forward and another runner.

I would put Pittonet out there for trade and targeted a cheaper option as a back up to TDK. Pittonet is not going to take us to the next step and someone out there may love him. Personally i would have dangled Marchbank and Martin too to see who bit. At the right price and all that.

Collingwood were ruthless a few years ago and now as well and they won a flag.

I dont know, and we may be doing this not sure. But i would have been targetting a medium forward very strongly as i feel that will take us to the next step. Im hoping Hollands will be that running midfielder we need.

Totally agree re Fisher trade and potential Dow trade. I would too have just taken the 20 something pick for Dow and hung onto our first. I'd be pushing hard, even demanding a 3rd rounder for Dow and I reckon we are which is what is leading the hold up I think.
I would have liked us to have a crack at Liam Henry too and not sure why we weren't.
Austin has said he'd like to move up the draft order and I still reckon we will and will likely trade next years first to help us get there.
Trading Pitto is an interesting one. Not a bad idea but to be truthful, not sure if there is much cheaper than Pitto.

“Carlton is asking for a future third-rounder for Dow, even if it means the Blues have to give back a future fourth-rounder. They’re happy to do that as long as they get the future third.

“St Kilda is saying no. They’re saying he’s worth no more than a future fourth.

“There is the subplot here of Stephen Silvagni and Carlton and it is certainly real. Speaking to the people in this situation, it is real.

“The optics are he doesn’t want to feel like Carlton is beating him on a deal and they can deny that forever, but that’s how people feel around the situation.”

So if true SOS is being a complete and utter flower....

If there is any truth to this, I agree with BV and disagree with 'sue. Walk Paddy into PSD. Rather Clarko and north get him for free than SoS.

Trading Pitto woul be madness imo.

Not many 2nd rucks that are that serviceable, likely still improving and willing to play 2nd fiddle on a 4 year deal like Pitto.

I'd be happy to sign him back up on 2 years minimum chips after the trade ends.

Would laugh my are off if that happened.

Pitto is invisible. He doesnt take marks around the ground. Doesnt drop back or forward to take a mark. Cant take a relieving mark down the line.

He is basically a body in the centre.

Will not take us to the next step of winning a premiership.

This is the time to now upgrade and improve.

Maybe there is some delusional team out there that thing they can fix him and offer something good.

Then we get someone from the vfl as im sure they will do the same or a bit more than Pitto.

Nothing personal - its what i see and think.

Was going to say that I'd hope we up the offer from 1 year to 2 and see if we can convince him to stay if Sos chooses to continue to be a wanker.

If SOS is turning this into something personal then I’m glad he was given the chop as it’s unprofessional.

If he’s not careful and doesn’t do a reasonable deal his bosses at the Saints should rightly query his professionalism. He’s playing poker if he wants to walk him in the draft.

I worshipped SOS growing up. i cant stand the petulant little sook anymore.

I have taken his autographed mark against Collingwood off my wall. I cant stand how much he hates us now.

Now i cant stand him. The miserable miserable man. He couldnt even celebrate his sons milestone. He cant even cheer or be happy for his son. He wants to ruin his fathers, his and sons club.

Geez !!

I would rather get nothing for Dow. Austin dont let us down mate.

That’s just the kind of story that SOS would leak

I don't fully blame SoS. He knows all he needs to do is pay a 3rd rounder and walk away. He'll do it on his terms now and when he is good and ready.

He's still a cauliflower, and yeah, I find that hard to say, being born in 77 and absolutely adoring him in my childhood

i should have know better than to adore him. When i was youngish i went up to the heatley stand where the players would sit to watch games. SOS and Bradley would not look at you or acknowledge you when you asked for an autograph.

I made excuses for his always till now im old and know better.

I was never an autograph hunter as a kid so I never got to see how they reacted to fans, but in my child's mind SOS was the coolest dude in the league, with the way he looked, his athleticism and the way he made the game look easy. It's funny how even in my 40s I'm disappointed to learn he was always an unfriendly, humourless, self absorbed prick.
