I dont know why the club treats us like fools when it comes to injuries. I wish someone from the club would explain the Bell inclusion last week.
What is wrong with us. :banghead: :banghead:

Correct!!

Her biggest competition is my daughter who plans to marry Army and have 27 kids - coz that's his jumper number and her lucky number.

But more to the point Army will bring genuine effort which should be a given for the whole 22 but sadly has to be seen as a bonus. His skills are better than their reputation, he is versatile and even if as some suggest he has lost a bit of pace (which I don't necessarily agree with) he certainly has a good turn of speed still.

Watching the Swans with Tibbett, Goodes, buddy and Reid all forward taking strong contested marks with a greasy ball. How the hell did they get so spoilt and could afford all of those guys?

... meanwhile at Carlton Levi moves like an ocean liner and kicks like a rugby league prop and then there's no one else.

Just stab me now.

He's played 100+ games Ian so I hope you give your blessing to the union.

Having just got back from my daughters Under 18 girls league game I think I can safely say that with her footy skills the odds would be against any of her progeny showing footballing ability even if she married Gary Ablett jnr. (But on the positive side she does love the game, anf that's what it is all about  )

It helps Hawthorn were missing nearly all their first choice players and lost some during the game.

Cachia is the only player named on the extended bench who is playing VFL

Armfield & Watson not playing VFL. I'm expecting a late change.

Mick has previously voiced his disdain at having to name a Monday team so far out. Expect changes.

The team we named on thursday night for a friday night game had 2 late changes. Mick simply hates naming teams anytime other than game day.

I'd be surprised if we play Yarran. With a hamstring twinge, he has the opportunity to have 4 wks and miss only 2 matches. Why risk bringing him back early on a dodgy hammy?

I thought he was taken from the field for precaution ate reasons because they did try him back on the ground before they pulled the trigger.
Ditto last week.

the MC or medical staff Erred on the side of caution for 3 weeks IMO.
Who knows if he had injured his hammy or just tightness in a spot as before.
Give the MC the benefit of the doubt. They have looked awful in recent history.

Interesting.

Mind games or some injured players may get up by then, or not.

Fair enough.

Make no mistake, this is a game we can win.

Lets not go in half hearted and the MC put the best team available on the park.

Danger game.

Why? It's a years old tradition that is required.....just because it's years old. Like a 20-something round season.

How many professional sporting codes name their team 3 days out?

Win or lose I'm already over 2014.
I spent six months thinking we had a reasonable list that could make the top eigh with a bit of luck with injuries and then we started with such a whimper I was deflated from the very beginning.
The Melbourne loss was a kick in the guts for me as it was for many of us. The players seemed to react OK for two weeks and then last week's debacle again.
Mathematically we can make the finals I suppose but based on current form and what seems from the other side of the world to be a lack of consistency of effort makes me think we should cut our losses and see what we've got.
Parko's comment about Armfield being a C grader who's busted his gut to become a b grader is telling. he comes in this week and we know he'll give 100% and maybe kick a few goals but he's still a fringe player in a team sitting 16th on the ladder.
Cripps and the others have to have a run.
Cachia maybe. Graham, Lucas and Watson. We already know Carazzo can play but he won't be around for long. Cut Juddy and offer Gibbs $500-600 take it or leave it. Tell Yarran he has to meet certain KPI regarding his defensive game or he's gone.
At the end of the year, we have to look at our ladder position and cut deep and ruthlessly and trade into the draft in the hopw we will have a decent team following behind GC and GWS. There's nothing more for it.
The result of this game means nothing other than someof the kids will play in a winning side. We can finish the season off strongly from here and finish maybe 11-13. For what? If we don't decide to play the kids a couple at a time consistently and see what we have available this season will just be another lost year.
I think we will win and I'll get up at 0430 to watch but only because I'm so rusted on I can't bring myself to sleep in and watch the replay.
I used to care. I used to get so angry after a weak loss that I'd take my frustration out on the lawn. We used to have such a nice lawn once. Mowed to within an inch of it's life, sometimes twice after a game in the fading light.
Now I have a gravel garden and just shrug off a loss.
After almost 60 years of being an active supporter and many of those as a member, especially through the post salary cap belting we took, that's what it's come down to for me.
We shouldn't have to get used to this shit.
Carlton by a few miserable points in a low scoring, lacklustre game. Armfield to give 100% and Gibbs 80.
