Best defensive forward in the competition by a long way.
I would have taken money off others as well.
Or not paid 700k for a hard running wingman with average skills.

I've been trying to stay away from this subject but I laugh at people who keep saying Thomas is a midfielder who runs hard both ways with good defensive skills. :yikes:
I'm in the; preferred to have kept Eddie camp but what can we do when the coach has the final say.

Comparing eddie and thomas at their best, its a no brainer that I'd take thommo. He's younger, runs harder and offers more to carlton. We need hard running 2 way mids with speed. When he's up and going at full flight we'll see how valuable thomas is. Eddie can be covered by garlett, yarran going forward and menzel

Kreuzer to help out around the ground, plus ruck duties, and of a bit of match fitness still to come, things ain't so terrible.

You're going to be waiting a while I think. Kreuzer's probably not the player we all hoped anyway. And he's basically been constantly injured for the last 3 years. Hard to see that changing anytime soon. Feet injuries are very, very hard to shake (unless you draw upon the help of guys like Charters). Especially when you're a big guy. Kreuzer's been struggling with his feet for the last 2-3 years.

..he's missed only a handful of games since his comeback after the knee, 17 last year, almost the full season the year before, and just the one or two games post comeback 2011 season.. ..the only real chunk of games he has missed was the acl.. ..otherwise, never been out for more than a few weeks, 106 out of possible 139 games all up, huge effort for a ruck.. ..hendo has missed more thru injury/form..

Really? I had no idea. Why haven't you mentioned this before?

People can blame MM all they want... hell, I even agree with some of them.
But we convert a quarter of these and we romp it home... embarrassing

Thanks again wookie

No doubt. (Although Richmond missed plenty as well, in fact they had more scoring shots)
Where I blame MM is had we played his outdated gameplan for 4 quarters, we wouldnt have got within 8 goals of Richmond.
We didnt get back into the game by playing the boundary and kicking to designated areas. After half time we shared the ball, ran and carried, played the corridor and gave the ball to people who can use it.
Somewhere along the journey someone has to stand up and say "listen Mick, let's move out of the past and play a gamestyle that will allow us to play at our best".
Do you think Brad Green will do that? or Wiley? or Capuano? or Barker? Of course not.
There's value in having some assistants that no one else wanted. They shut up and do what's in their best interests.

What irks me as much as the misses are the reactions, which seem indifferent at best.

At least look like you take some pride in your performance FFS.

I'm sure I've heard this before. Coaching can be so overrated at times.

Just let the players do what they do best.

At press conferences, I'm still waiting for the coach to be asked what he thinks he did well, and what he didn't do well.

Stubborn MM wants to play a gamestyle which the list isn't suited to.

His long bomb game plan might work if we had Cloke and Tippett but we don't.

He has been employed to use a gamestyle best suited to the list; clearly he only does that when we inevitably fall well behind.

And that's why I want him to be questioned about his own performance.

The Carlton I remember would have kept both Eddie and Daisy.

They sure would have. Three seasons later we'd have a million dollar fine and no draft picks, but still ...

A bit of hurt after the siren wouldn't have gone astray either. Seeing half our side pretty much dry rooting the Tigers after the match made my blood boil.
