Henderson trained along with Yaz, Walker and Gibbs this morning

No Kruezer and Murph just doing straight running.....

Murph never trains day before game.

I've lost count of the number of times people have freaked when he doesn't do full training before the game.

The key questions for me - are we taking too many blokes in who are short of a gallop?

That's my concern as well. Gibbs, Walker and Yarran haven't played much since the North game.

Gibbs & Yarran both played 3/4 of the Adelaide game.

Tex is the only one who is underdone - but, being the fittest at the club I'm not too concerned.

Buckley and Cripps should be in this side .... they both performed well in the lead up games. I can't see any case for McInnes.

But we will see what happens.

We do look too slow and too tall.

Buckley's disposal was woeful for the best part of the games he played

Not sure Cripps is ready for ping pong stadium - won't be surprised if he's in vs tigers at the G

Agree

Just needs to a bit more composure perhaps - will come with maturity hopefully

He looked to try too much. A month in the VFL might see him develop further and work on his composure in the back line.

Haha. The super duper supporter BBW is at it again. Let the MC do its job and stop embarrassing yourself.

Don't agree and you can't fit everyone in. It's a long season and Buckley & Cripps will get there opportunities.

My guess is Cripps needs to work on his fitness and Buckley on his poise and disposal. Not a big issue and everyone selected deserves their spots IMO.

I'm not exactly sure what McInnes's strengths are either. Could someone let me know please?

Well we did that last year and see what happened lol :screwy: :screwy: :hitcomputer: ... the MC was laughable ... but hey ... I have changed my ways ... I am on board with Dr Strangelove ... we are are gunna bore teams out of the game. I am happy with that ... and everyone deserves a chance ... so the MC can spin the wheel once more (I am sure they have some sort of wheel or dice) ... I am feeling more confident now I understand the Doctors tactics.

Round one is such a mixed bag. At this time of year I wouldn't know what to expect from the boys.

As important as early wins are, we're still a bit away from it yet. New editions to the list, hardly any game time. I wouldn't be surprised if things didn't quite gel in the first game of the season for us. So I'm hoping we learn one thing we didn't do last year, starting off well and heap on the goals early. By games end I sure we'll see a lot of tired players, so a good start is paramount to our chances of a round one victory.

Let's just hope they kick straight & not waist their opportunity's, as we saw with Coll, even though they dominated early on it didnt show on the scoreboard.
Well we all know what happened next.
Ok Port aren't Freo, but how many times have you seen us bustin a gut.. Only to see it waisted by sloppy kicking which just kills you in the end.

Hinkley sat 2 players behind the ball last time and we continued to kick the ball to them. The game is becoming more and more about retaining possession while we continue to turn 100% possession into 50/50 contests with our gamestyle. With the majority of scores coming from turnovers, hopefully the penny will drop and we'll get more balance between our contested and uncontested possession.
Todays game will prove an interesting insight into whether we've addressed the issues from last year.

Reasonable from the inheritor of Walls' mantle, Lloyd.

We will be run over the top off in the last quarter, that's my fear. Whether we have a big enough lead is the question?
