It won't be a game of speed so if you are going to give Laidler a chance to prove himself this is the game, he could go either forward or back and he deserves a go due to his VFL form.

His form has been poor at VFL level the last couple of weeks.

Thought it was just this week (played forward in a shellacking) and he was in good form the week before and a few previous.

After 3 nice early goals, I thought Yagmoor took him to the cleaners. Got about a thousand attacking rebounding possessions on Laidler.

man up at all times, crowd there fwd line. use our speed play on all times. leave waite or kruzer in goalsq 1on1 ,be smarter with ball use dont kick straight 2 ahawk turnover goal,we have to be a smarter team must apply pressure on the hawks carriers and then there game plan fails. One question can we play walker on gibbson and we see if goes 3rd up now.

No problem.

It sounded more promising in the reports.

Against opponents who regularly belt the crap out of us why would you drop the one player who doesn't take a backwards step? Robbo needs to play & be given a clear mission to counter thier roughhouse tactics. Make him stand next to Lewis or Hodge & give it to them.

Yarren's the one to go. Bring Menzel in for him. Yarren isn't hard or intense at the ball so will be next to useless. If he plays add 5 goals to the defeat.

At the first sign of any rough stuff I want to see the flag waved in no uncertain terms. We will never break the physically weak tag until we do this.

Sadly I fear more of the same will come our way and this game will be all over at half time.

78 pts, 4, 50, 12, 50 ...

Looks to me as though we're due a close game against them if we continue following the 'thrashing, close one, thrashing' pattern.

What were the respective margins at half time of these games?

well golly,
if it's ok with everyone, and we're not punishing Yaz
I'dlike to keep him and Robbo in, and get them to play beyond their own, and our expectations of them.

We have to try to separate their defenders, which means that we are going to need Casboult and/or whichever other talls play forward to be able to at least hold their own. Blokes like Gibson and Lake are masters at coming off their man to help out their fellow defenders, so we need to be smart in how we bring the ball inside 50 and try to get all of the forwards involved to get their defenders to think twice about coming off their man.

And we are the masters at letting teams get away with it

Why would Armfield be dropped? He'd be about our 4th best this year. Kept Hibberd quiet last week...done everything MM has asked of him and more this year.

I read somewhere in a paper over the weekend that Essendon* did well to keep Armfield to 10 touches.

Found it

Quote:
Eddie Betts will be better for the run. Dennis Armfield, having enjoyed an afternoon out against Greater Western Sydney a week earlier, was held to only 10 disposals by the Bombers.

Nice work Jon Pierik, you fool.

John Pie Wreck did give Callum Ward BOG last week

So Cachia is good to play, with Patty Mac out for 2 months on LTI list with a bad foot. Sadly , I reckon that's the end of Patty .

I have not seen him play any reserves games but I did notice River Rodent described his recent games as solid.
If he ever was going to get a game it would be this week.

I don't reckon you'll be thinkin' that when the final sounds Friday.
I reckon we're going to be hungry and I reckon we're going to win.

I've seen the weather reports and there has been no mention of hell freezing over this week.

Orange laces this week for an anti street violence campaign.
Pink lace panties under the shorts for the rest of the season if i see no ground violence on hawks peripheral players......
