Silly move if that's the case.
Gibbs isn't a burst player.
We need control from the start and that means your good players on the ground from the on set.
If we fall behind we need players that can absorb and versatility.
He needs to start and test himself.
If he reoccures then we still have the numbers.

Good Afternoon Everyone. I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought I'd put it in the game thread. I am in Brisbane for tomorrow nights game, and as it happens, I have a couple of extra tickets. So, if anyone is planning on going to the game, and hasn't bought tickets yet, please let me know. I guess you can pm me if you would like the tickets (they are foc). i'd much prefer to give the tickets to someone from this board! First in, best dressed I guess.

Agree... such a move is understandable if your playing GWS or Melbourne, where you expect to win regardless, so game time is used on young player. But doesn't make much sense in a must win game against an opponent that belted us just a few months ago.

We did that with Betts after his last lay off.

Match fitness is important as is having Gibbs for the rest of the season. If they dont think they will get 80 mins out of him then so be it.

..there is always the chance of a 1st Q injury however.. ..you ought not to play someone as a sub if they can't run out a game.. ..if they're not totally over their injury you can overwork them.. ..if it's about getting minutes and run into their legs, time manage them in the ressies.. ..can't afford these games in the seniors..

Ch 9 news in Brisbane mentioned that Murphy didn't arrive with the rest of the side "to increase his recovery time".
Fingers crossed there is nothing to worry about.

So who would you bring in as sub? If chosen to be sub we would be our best option as sub. There is no better outside the teams.

You can comfortably say the sub will play 3qtrs in close to the worse case. Then can have his minutes limited from there.

If someone goes down in the first minute you could get stung but that there is the very small gamble of playing a slightly underdone player as sub.

Low pressure system off the north coast of NSW. Could be a windy night tomorrow. Good for small forwards like Garlett and Murphy.

NAB cup still fresh in everybody's mind. They outplayed us in every facet of the game that night.
They will sorely miss Merrett so that will help a lot.
Browny is playing pretty good footy at the other end.

I watched them a couple of weeks ago and they were as hard at it as one could ever want.

We need to win this one to set us for Hawthorn next week.

we should play GWS and Bummers before the Hawks

That's what happens when you try and memorize the entire fixture.

One week at a time wold be better
