Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get another Brownlow vote this year.

For 3/4's we were 10 times better than last week. Then we stopped.

If we'd played like this last week we would have won by 10 goals.

We have alot of dishonesty amongst our players ... watch at the stoppages ... most times we get first touch, but we get the fumbles and lose possession ... why ??? ... because the player with that first touch has no confidence that his team mates will block/shepherd/protect ... why ??? ... because that player with that first touch doesn't block/shepherd/protect when it is his turn to do so. It starts with you CAPTAIN.

That's a very good observation.

Far too many passengers in the team today. Our good players gave us a chance but in the end needed more from Casboult, Laidler, Bootsma, Touhy, Armfield, Davies, Carazzo and Mclean.

Makes you wonder how we got so close!

Wish we could. At least when he kicked the ball - at the goal or a teammate - you knew it would go where it was intended.

How many players do we have in the team where you can actually relax when they have the ball in their hands? How many players, when they line up for goal, can you think: "He'll drill this." ?

Centre square dominance because they had no ruck. In the last they countered by starting extra players behind the square. We had no answer and were ran all over.

Clearances better x 100000000

Perhaps if we send the opposition ruckman to hospital every week. We'll be half a chance.
Until Jolly went off, we were getting badly beaten at the stoppages, again...

Absolutely no excuses today

Not good enough.

Bottom 5 or 6 gave us nothing.

Half a dozen hbfers on the list and none of them any good.

Will win some games this year but not enough to make the 8. [/s]

Yep. How Ratten made finals 3 years in a row with such a terrible list is mind boggling.
He must be a freak.

Mind boggling hey.

Rubbish. If he was any good we would already be seeing at least a glimpse of what he is trying to achieve. So far all out attacking shootouts is all i see and we could do that less mediocre with Ratts at the helm.

Davies was nothing short of ordinary today, and probably shouldn't get another go at it all year with Scotland back next week. Having said that, Davies in the side allowed us to start Walker forward and keep Yarran up front for most of the game. Who else comes in to allow us that luxury? White and Duigan both too slow. Laidler was underdone as it is. O'Keeffe injured, etc. etc. I doubt we played him on merit.

In an ideal world, Simpson is no longer in our best 22. He's gone from being the best run and carry player in the competition to offering very little in that regard, and not quick enough or a good enough kick to get by on other tools. Again, very little else challenging his spot. Curnow, or when eligible to play, Dale. Whilst I think the latter is definitely long term replacement, not just yet.

Our centre bounce structures were ordinary again. You won't see a more dominant non-Sandilands ruck display all for naught as it was today.

Not sure where you go with Bootsma from here.

Had the same thought about Simmo today, really hasn't given us much in either game this year. Unlikely to be under threat as there are a few others to go first but he's struggling at the moment.

A disappointing loss but for me far from the wrist-slashing one a lot of others see it as.

I'd be quite interested in giving Hendo a month as a forward and replace him with Rowe down back. Missed Betts today, would have been handy to have him to chuck in the middle.

I hate that rule about hitting someone's legs with your head being a free against. I also hate the booing every time someone rushes a behind, ffs it's been part of the game for a hundred years, and is still a legitimate option for defenders. Was also unimpressed by the cheer squad banner saying "welcome m.m from club of scum to club no 1".

Club I know you can't stand Malthouse and would have liked someone else probably anybody else. I respect your feelings about him as a person. Forgetting that for a moment can he improve us or not. Just your opinion.

Rubbish!!!!
this is rattens list and team he has inherited

buckley has his(mms).flag under its belt..a few prelims under its belt.. and a leadership group to mix it with the good clubs

he was perennial prelim coach

ratts is the victor in one eliminational final... and our team has no obvious leaders.
and players that go into their shells.

thats how to compare malthouse with the worst ever coach since stewart for the carlton footy cllub

which bit do u dispute for the record???
