A couple of years back I thought Jesse White had the potential to become a superstar, what's happened there? Injuries? Unhappy at the Swannies? Still only 24.

Dawes is an interesting proposition, at his best a game changer. Seems to be a confidence player, doesn't appear to be enjoying his football. Uncomfortable with the Pies bogan image considering his background? Sick of Eddie and his "boy from Broadie" stories?

A fresh start could be just what he needs, worth the risk at the right price. Also 24yo.

Gee, if he's uncomfortable with the Pies' bogan image, he's gonna just lerrve Carlton. That would be like someone leaving Melbourne cos he's uncomfortable with tanking and then coming to Carltank. Would never happen!!!

Yep, I'd go for a number of those guys before Travis but there's just the minor inconvenience that you'd have to give up a couple of first round draft picks for most of them.

Cloke is free!

Pay him $500K and get the list to sacrifice $400K on a pro rata basis. Judd gets 10% of the payroll, Judd pays 40K and so on down the list.

If the players don't want to do that then trade them.

Done deal!

Hey, did anyone know that when you type pro rata on an iPad it autocorrects to pro rats?

Aah. Of course. So you think all those "anti-Ratten" posters were really just complaining about anti-static??

He actually wants 6 years... but it wont be 6.

How can you not see that this is exactly the kind of stupid decision that creates the situation we have before us?

I look forward to 4 players taking up 35-40% of our TPP...

Why are you telling me?
Ive told u the club has no clue... just saying thats the chatter around the place atm.

Me?

i would have gotten rid of Ratten years ago... actually i wouldnt have given him the job.

Money would have gone towards a good coach... and development...

But 5 years later.. theyre getting abit anxious.....

Not sure why youre snapping at me for club decisions....

Getting very uncomfortable about the Cloke situation.

I can honestly see how he’d add value to our side (on field at least) but the term and price is way overs and not worth the risk imho.

Well I have just heard from what I consider to be a reliable source with excellent inside contact that it's a "DONE DEAL"

I wouldn't do it unless it was 1.2 million a year over 6 years..

I once heard someone say you get what you pay for so I reckon we should pay overs and he should be worth about 140 goals a year.

If thats the case, how the hell could we afford that unless half the list take big long term pay cuts.
I suppose Judd's deal would ve been massively front loaded so that d leave some room.
Agree though about Eddie hating this, but that just makes me want this to be true even more lol..

Offload a bit of fat. Scotland, Jamison, Warnock/Hampson, Russ and pay cuts. That is the only way i see it working.

If we are to sign Cloke, and I really hope not. We need to make room in the Salary Cap. That means trades for picks. Warnock, Hammer, Garlett, Russell, Scotland may come under real pressure for purely financial reasons.

Would a swap of Russell for Jesse White be worth it? With Casboult/Mitchell developing he could easily provide the big body we need. Release Waite and maybe Henderson. Back up ruckman as well and is talented. Under MM he may step up. At 24 coming into his best footy.
