I think he's a bit harsh on Lids and Cooney.

If Deledio was at Collingwood, Geelong.... in fact almost any other club, you'd see what an absolute champion he is. Wrong place at the wrong time. I'd still love him at Carlton.

And Cooney? Brownlow not good enough for Wallsy? OK, OK, I know. Woewoedin won one too (say that fast 3 times!). But still. I think Cooney IS an exceptional player. I don't think they really get it wrong with No 1s these days.

I actually completely disagree with Walls. I think Scully will be exceptional. And if he were MY son, I'd tell him to pull his head in, and stay with the club that drafted him. He may not make $1 million per year, but he'll do ok. He'll be wealthier than 99.9% of 25 year olds in a few years, and when free agency comes, and he's proven himself, he'll have another go. And if they do the right thing at the end of this year, he may even get some great team success.

(If I was a Melbourne or Adelaide supporter I'd be absolutely livid. This rule of being allowed to sign uncontracted players should've been limited to guys who've played more than 5 years!!!!!)

The way it is turning out, we can win every game and finish 5th or we can lose every game and still finish no lower than 5th.

I'm trying to talk them up

But, they will be desperate, and are a live chance. Surely one of these games has to go our way. But for us it may all end on Friday night. Massive game !!

Didn't Richmond beat Sydney earlier this year? Or was that last year?
