The critics might be unwittingly setting Juddy up for a third Brownlow

BTW I never heard anyone criticise Bobby Skilton or Haydn Bunton's Brownlows because they played in non–dominant teams.

I was watching the Channel 7 news last night and caught a bit of Swan's acceptance speech at the AFL Coaches Association awards. He said "things didn't go so well last night, but at least the AFL Coaches Association seem to know what they are talking about." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A petulant display from a classless, sore loser.

Wow, that's amazing. I'm guessing he's been brought to account by our ever vigilant football media, too. :garthp:

Mind, when you see the example of "gracious losing" set by Eddie McGuire is it any wonder a fool like Swan is no better?

It's all about the narrative. The footy world decided that it was Swan's year (gee, it's a great footy story...) and woe betide anyone who forced them to change their headlines. The obverse is that Swan's mis-steps are laughed off.

How embarrassing for Swan....and it's on tape too. :screwy:

I hope he doesn't have kids. He is no role model for them; that's for sure.

I hope for the sake of humanity that he doesn't have kids as well.

This is votes from the Coaches Association Award for Round 6 -> http://aflca.com.au

Quote:
Carlton v Collingwood (Round 6, 2010)
8 Chris Judd (Carl)
8 Luke Ball (Coll)
7 Dane Swan (Coll)
5 Scott Pendlebury (Coll)
1 Marc Murphy (Carl)
1 Jordan Russell (Carl)

But we got flogged. I think they should take the Coaches Association voting away from the coaches, they have too much to worry about during the game to know who to vote for.

I beg, BEG of the umpires on Saturday to get a perfect view of Swan get absolutely clotheslined by about 6 St Kilda players, tripped by 4 more and ping him for holding the ball every time. It's OK, they don't know what they're talking about.

Also if Milne gets reported on video evidence from one of these clashes and is suspended for 15 weeks it would be spectacular as well.

No Dane, the umpires know as well as we do that you're just a chip scab and until you put your hideously tattooed body on the line you won't be winning any Brownlows.

I am no fan of Dane Swan, but from what I've seen of him I really doubt he was being at all serious when he said that. His sense of humour is pretty dry, if a little obvious. Still a bogan though.

Saw the same thing. What an ungrateful, classless peasant. Hope the umps heard it and I hope they give him nothing on GF day. Imagine him just brushing Milnes's jumper in the last 30 seconds. Umps award free to Milne and they win the flag

And THAT is what the Brownlow used to be about. Once upon a time it was he best player on the ground but now it (supposedly) has to be the best player on he winning side.

Does anybody remember how much Collingwood bleated about how unfair it was that Buckley won the Norm Smith Medal in a losing Grand Final team????

Nup. Especially he Collingwood people.

Ask Greg Williams how he feels about Swan not polling votes when his team won. What goes around comes around.

Juddy is going to on the Footy show tonight, hope the Collingwood morons give a good reception.
What a difference a year makes, this time last year Carlton was in damage control after the Brownlow with Fev. this year Judd is all over the papers for the right reason and on the club website with his medal.

The RIGHT reason? He's being used as a figurehead for bullshit Brownlow corruption theories. I'd hardly call that a good thing.

That said, I am looking forward to his appearance tonight. Would be even better if he leaves it at home again

If he is in the parade tomorrow he should be in a "Popemobile" to protect him from the filth fans spitting at him

I just can't believe the favourite didn't win the Brownlow, when was the last time that happened?

2008. The favourite rarely wins. The media elect them as favourite and the media know jack shit!

Ablett had a nice little sook about being beaten by Adam Cooney. Undoubtedly led to him winning in 2009.

Swan is a certainty in 2011.

When asked for his tips for the GF and Norm Smith, Crawf followed his selections with "Brownlow Medallist: Chris Judd"

Good form Crawf
