I'd say he is our 6th best defender at the club. Regardless, the knee injury was self inflicted.

No Thornton mate? I thought he was outstanding and inspired the turn around

He certainly was.

We go on about Jamo and Bower but Thornton continues to show us that currently he's our best defender...he was fantastic today.

A 3rd year rookie yet to play a game for premiership points VS a '3rd string' ruckman, who won a premiership medallion while your 2nd ruck didn't make the team.

Considering 80% of the day's ruck duels were between these two, I reckon Jacobs did alright personally :smoking:

Thornton's 2nd half was very good, but his 1st was abysmal. He wasn't alone though.

Have we worked out yet how you can self-inflict a knee injury? And deliberately too, from the tone of Tuck's post.

1st qtr maybe but I thought he really started something in the second. I must watch the replay.

1st qtr was as flat as I have seen - but to our credit we dug ourselves out

Yeah nah, neither were we..

Blah, blah, blah ....

Interesting to note the outs for the Blues: Andrew Carrazzo, Matthew Kreuzer, Heath Scotland, Andrew Walker, Robbie Warnock and Chris Yarran.

Will be interesting to see both teams at full strength, when we're not relying on our 5th best ruckman to carry the ruck.

Sorry for only playing 4 of our 6 rookies. Next time we'll play all 6.

Ray Chamberlin was certainly trying!

yes you are still a better team than us, but we beat you today and you tried as hard as we did

to come on here and say oh we didnt try and oh we had this player out and oh he is only our 3rd string ruckman is weak and pathetic

pathetic , sniping , diving pack of cheats and and we dont like you

what he said.

Look at the end of the day the scumbag sniper Hawks will beat us in the season proper... but what i was happy with today was that we adapted to their floating zone, in the first qtr we didnt handle the zone well at all... but after that it seemed we worked our way through it well.

That number 13 for them... Taylor is it? Dirty &*^&*(^% i nearly jumped the fence... who does that ^&*%& think he is... going after Murphy then had a go at Gibbs... cheap scumbag.

I used to respect Sam Mitchell as a fair hard ball player... after seeing his work in the grand final, i realise he is a sniper like his coach....

Im happy to win... but im keeping it in perspective, no injuries ( i know of ) and another good hard game against a very good team next week, on a decent ground.... cant get much better preparation for round 1

Rest Judd and Fevola next week, if i was Fev i would have beat the s**t out of an umpire by now... he gets pack r*ped every week... no free kicks

Number 13 did seem to make good use of his knees a bit.

I wonder if the MRP will inspect those pieces of play.

Mate...you obviously didn't watch the 1st qtr. T'bird was one of the main reasons we were 5 goals behind. Shocking disposal, decision making, and gave away stupid frees. Thank god it's only a NAB game, in the real thing the Dawks wouldn't have let us off the hook so easily...they would've smashed us.

We're not there yet!

The First Quarter gave us a reality check of what it takes to be in the Finals this year....

We are still a fair way to compete against Hawthorn and Geelong. Our Skill Errors was shocking and unless it improves, we will again fall short of the 8.
