This thread is hilarious.
Us, making a claim, turning on them, who are turning on us, while turning on our own, who are turning on us, for making a claim.
I think it will sell memberships.
And I think that's probably the point.

Melvey who is it that you support.

I am relatively new to this site and believed it to be for people who SUPPORT the Carlton Football Club.

From what I've read of your posts I am yet to be convinced of any sort of regard Carlton from you.

The idea from the marketing people i think is great. This is not a message that the match commitee and leadership group came up with. It is simply to excite supporters into buying a membership.

That's exactly what it's done for me and most of the others on this thread.

I cant help but think you post things to have people like me reply to your rubbish. Join the red and black scum please.

I read Melvey's posts and I honestly don't get why they work people up so much.

He's often quite realistic, despite his alleged pessimism.

I mean, I don't always agree, but it's a strange phenomenon that one person can incite so much rage with a few simple comments!

love it loathe it

you have to admit it is one of the better marketing campaigns i have seen for any sport in a long time.

yeah, people will have a crack it, but there in lies its brillance.

the slogan, and the club are the most heavily talked about club in the game at the minute.

therefore, its a roaring success.

the more copycats that come, the more that people are talking about carlton.

sensational stuff by the blues.

If you think that i 'post things to have people like me reply to your rubbish' then why reply back.....????

Im no talking carlton band wagon supporter like you. For you to be noticed you've jumped onboard and thrown in a cheap remark my way

This club needs to repay us supporters for all the loyal support and especially for the hardship we all endured over the 7 years. What better way to do that than by winning it's 17th premiership then giving us the right to brag and stick it up everyone when it achieved.

Like the scum mentioned on we only finished a spot above them and they had a debilitated list. God help us if we don't make he 8 in 2009

What i write are truly my thoughts. If you don't like skip past my post and move on

It's due to some people feeling so insignificant they feel the need to make a point out of someone (and not just me) to feel better within there own miserable lives.

They can throw what they like at me and i'l cop it on the chin.

My thoughts are my thoughts. I'll back them in, i believe what i write, i'll have the guts to say it and i will not belittle anyone just to get my point across (or big my self up) unless they've thrown it at me first

I do not seek the attention, nor do i expect any kind of reaction. I've wrote many positive posts on this which go unnoticed which don't bother me cause like i said i do not expect any reaction or attention.

Im on here to express my view as i don't get the opportunity to talk football like many of you during my week. Just maybe im not as fanatical of some of you are about the blues, i have plenty going on in my life other than this club but i love just as much as you all do.

We're here to talk carlton not about individual posters so lets stick to that. If anyone doesn't like what i write simply read past my post and ignore it or if the moderators truly believe im 'trolling' than they can take it up with me and ban me for having my own point of view

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Love is all around me
And so the feeling grows
Its written on the wind
Its everywhere I go, oh yes it is
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show
You know I love you, I always will
My minds made up by the
Way that I feel
Theres no beginning,
Therell be no end
cause on my love you can depend
I see your face before me
As I lay on my bed
I kinda get to thinking
Of all the things you said, oh yes I did
You gave your promise to me and i
Gave mine to you
I need someone beside me
In everything I do, oh yes I do
You know I love you, I always will,
My minds made up by the
Way that I feel
Theres no beginning,
Therell be no end
cause on my love you can depend
Got to keep it moving
Oh its written in the wind
Oh everywhere I go, yeah, oh well
So if you really love me, love me, love me
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it
Come on and let it (come and let it show, baby)
Come on, come on, come on let it show baby
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show, baby
Come on and let it show

Bloody oath they do.

We, the payed up members didn't partake in any decision to cheat the system and pay players under the table, nor did we decide to build a 14 million dollar grand stand when we were advised not to, poor management and planning which played a part in getting us knee deep in shit. If it weren't for 1 individual we'd be around ankle high in shit right now

I wonder how many of you on here were the 7 or so thousand that did not financially support the club nor sit through some of the most painful and gut wrenching performances through those bleak years???

So don't give me this 'where does my loyalty lie' bullshit cause i bet some of you reading this are guilty for jumping right off when the going got tough

ummm you see this is the point

the club has existed for a long, long time. The past 7 years is a fart, its smells, it hung around for a while, but the winds of change have blown it away and things are returning to normal.

oh and I do not think the club owes me anything

in fact

I've seen 8 flags

I'd say regardless of what happens, I've done rather well out of the deal

and

I owe the club nothing

its not a relationship

its just a damn footy club I barrack for.

actually I am not, just having fun with a bloke who seriously doesn't get life.

Old man is a dead give away - as if thats an insult....no just a reflection of your head space.

You should read Iron John (by Robert Bly) It'll do wonders for that chip you carry around with your membership card.
